The food was INCREDIBLE, however the service was not good at all. The man working the counter was not friendly at all, seemed bothered by our presence and when I asked questions he just pointed at the menu with an attitude. I arrived at 10pm on the 4th of July which was a wed and they were supposed to be open til 11or 12 I believe and my family sat at the table as I ordered. Although this is a very large restaurant it is quite empty and stark white. Not at all in inviting, unfortunately. I live in buckeye, 42 miles away which was just over an hour due to traffic. We enjoyed our local Gus' pizza the last time we had went which was about 2 months ago (the first time) so we were visiting this location based on the reputation and experience of the Goodyear location. Unfortunately as I was called to get our food I noticed it was all packed in to-go containers. Confused, I asked, "can we not eat here?" And the man said, "no we closed at 10." Which I found odd since I came in a few minutes after 10 and he never mentioned closing early to me. Had he mentioned that eat in was no longer an option I would've taken my family elsewhere. I am on social security, I barely make ends meet, and going out to eat is a privilege we don't get to do anymore. I LITERALLY SPENT PHONE BILL MONEY ON THIS MEAL in order to treat my kids on the 4th of July. I will not have a phone for the entire month because I chose to buy this meal, and then the worker dryly, and unapologetically tells me, "yeah, well it's the 4th of July we closed early" as have been actively ordering past 10pm... SO, an hour away from home, now almost 11pm, I have to eat in the car with a 1 year old and an autistic 11 year old who don't understand why we can't just eat at the restaurant. I've never been so disappointed. It took everything I had not to cry when my autistic little sister (I raise her since our mom died) said, "well even though it's hot out here and we can't eat inside, you still had us a good night sister. you still tried your best." So yeah... It may not be a big deal to some, just a large pizza, wings, and cheese sticks, but when it's choosing between necessities to buy it, and it goes wrong, it sucks. I just wanted to make memories and keep some sense of normalcy for my kids since we've experienced so many changes this year, so for me, it...
Read moreVERY DISPLEASED Our last order in January was wrong and late. They were able to replace the order another day. Great. Well then we ordered delivery again this past weekend. Our order was an Xlarge pizza, wings, and zucchini. They said it was going to be 1 hour. I called back after an hour and a half when they still had not arrived. The guy said the delivery just left and should be at my house in 5-10 mins. I called back again in 15 minutes and asked to speak to a manger because I wanted a refund. The guy told me the manager is not there but he will replace the food another day. Then after 10 more minutes, the food finally came and was missing zucchini and everything was cold. By this time my poor kids were so hungry they were crying because our food took 2 hours to arrive So I called back again telling them my order was wrong and if I can just get a refund and the guy said he can’t. He would have to wait for the manager and that he would be calling me back. I never received the call. I called on Sunday and they said the manager, was not there. I called on Monday, and again they said manager already left and is only there in the mornings. So I called Wednesday morning 15 minutes after they opened, he said the manager is not here yet but he can call you back before he leaves around noon. I never received that call, so I called at 1215. I told the guy my situation, he said he will replace my order but I need to pick it up. When I arrived the order was not ready, I asked for my money back he said he didn’t know how to do that but I can wait 15 minutes and he will “hook it up”. Then I told him I wanted my money back because it’s been such a hassle I don’t see what the problem is with just refunding my money and he said it has to be within 24hrs. I told him well I spoke to you the day I had these issues and you said the manager would call me and he didn’t. So he replaced my order after having to drive there and wait for it but still was not able to give me my money back or allow me to speak to a manager. This is the worst service I have ever received from a pizza place. I wish I could just get my money back for all the hassle my starving kids and having to...
Read moreI've ordered pizzas and wings from Gus' several times over the years and from a sampling of several orders I can say they range from acceptable to appalling. It's really a coin toss whether or not your meal is going to be reasonable. I settle for their pizza once in awhile because they're close and their food is at least better than Little Caesar's.
Each time I've entered this place the employees are stone-faced and unfriendly. They behave as though they're barely withholding the disappointment that I've had the audacity to enter their pedestrian establishment. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if they've been putting something in my lazily prepared food. They can't even be bothered to manage their menu options on apps like doordash and yet refer to them as their primary storefront.
The latest monstrosity they served me was a 12" lopsided mess with the toppings slathered on one side to make way for an enormous bubble in the poorly made dough. They thought this was acceptable? It's abundantly clear these people do not care what I think about their pizza.
The dried out wings are also so greasy that the glaze oozes off of them to rest at the bottom of the container. They're at least edible, but the only place I've visited with worse wings "is" Little Caesar's.
I'm no snob, though. The lethargically prepared food and unfriendly service wouldn't bother me, as I'm used to it in the hood. As long as it tastes decent and doesn't give me a disease, I'm happy. However, it's a problem since the prices are relatively high. For the money you could do better in this neighborhood by visiting almost any other establishment.
I recommend trying some of the taco shops around here. They're service isn't much better, but they at least take some pride in what they do, producing better food at lower prices than these guys.
or if you're interested in starting up a pizzeria in this area, you may find it disappointingly easy to beat out the...
