Wendy's — Restaurant in Glendale

For some unknown reason they were out of chili but didn't tell anyone until after everyone had placed their orders and waited a long time. I didn't time it because I wasn't expecting a delay, but we estimate we waited about 20 minutes for a new batch of chili to be ready. Had I known there would be such a long wait I probably would have ordered something else, which is also what the guy after me said to the cashier. I realize that you can run out of something, but a little courtesy to let us know would have greatly appreciated. This was my first visit to this location, which is only about a mile from my house, but it may be my last visit. I could have driven to a different location and still got to where I was going faster. I also discovered they have changed the chili recipe since the last time I got it, and this is probably the last time for that. Now they have added some sort of thickener (probably corn starch) which adds nothing of value except to attempt to fool us that it is "thick and chunky" or some other such nonsense. So after work I chose Wendy's for my meal. I ordered the pretzel baconator combo. As I ordered, the man had brought back his chili because there was a piece of plastic inside the chili. That was the first thing next I went to get ketchup and noticed the entire dining area was filthy. No customers except that man and myself. Even if they had a rush before I showed. There was no reason the person behind the register could not clean and wipe everything down. I actually watched him walk to the back then front several times, looking for something to do. As this was happening, my burger was sitting half made on the line because no one was there anymore. Last, once I received my order, he did apologize for the wait. I sat unwrapped the burger, and I must say it was messy, and the presentation sucked. It looked like a sloppy mess. This was a disappointing experience. Well I had ordered 3 burgers, and a large fry thru DoorDash. To be exact 2 double stacks and jr cheeseburger duluxe. Let me tell you the burgers were cold as ice and disappointing after I got done eating fries that look good on top and burnt on the bottle of batch on early Sunday morning. 12/24/23. Even though place was close by my house I thought it was a good choice to just be let down bad like they didn’t care and served quick junk. I’ve never wrote this bad of a review as a business critic with lots of reviews under my belt. I highly would not recommend this place for home deliveries cause they failed my expectations Big time!
