Honestly the best cheesesteak in town and the staff is friendly! Its kills me to write anything negative but character is big with me. If it was just the mistake I would be here writing only great things. Its the character piece that was major. My only issue came when my sandwich was messed up.The one guy told me he left a note for Magic to give a free sandwich my next order. I made sure to ask was he sure bc he said he wouldnt be the one there the next day and he confirmed. I actually ordered the sandwich 2 days later. I ubered there to pick it up and was told it was going to be 50% at the counter. If I didn't have the money I would've had to leave the sandwich there. I was told he called the guy from the original order and he told him he said a discount and not free. Sadly that was lie. I made sure I asked the original person all this information so it would not be no issues. He 100% said free and basically I was told I was lying without out right saying, I was lying. He was not rude or mean but still it was very uncomfortable and left me feeling uneasy because again character is big for me. I would never ask for more than what i was told I would be given. I wouldve been happy with 50% off if I was told that but since I was told free it should have been that. Even after I made the order and it was realized it was only going to be 50% and not free, a phone call to make sure that would be OK or would I like to redeem it later would have went a long way. Again my experiences are normally great! They truly have the best cheesesteak in town. Messing up an order happens and them offering to compensate was appropriate and appreciated. It was honest being made to feel like a liar and because my uber was outside waiting, feeling like let me just pay for this and get out. Again character means alot for me. These guys are great but they need business management and more workers. I still havenāt gotten my refund. No cash and my kid didnāt get his meal. There were NO DRINKS and we did not get the chicken fingers my husband had to order after you messed up the first by not telling anyone you were out of hamburgers. Bravo on going VIRAL so did COVID. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came to try the cheesesteak, as I've been on a regional tour to find a good steak in the south jersey philly area. I saw the reviews and decided to give it a shot:
CHEESESTEAK IMPRESSION: This was the best steak I've had in the SJ region since arriving 4 years ago. The bread was soft and seeded (i prefer a hard roll but I'll get it toasted next time). The steak was seasoned well, and the cheese to steak ratio was nice. DeliCozy is on my recommend list for sure.
SHOP IMPRESSION: What really sold me was when the owner came over to my table to ask how it was. When I said it was good he wanted to know how it could be better or improved. We dialogued about my impressions, my cheese steak tour, he told me about why he chose the roll he chose, and his thoughts on other spots. That won me over. I have no social media platform, nor do I do 'food reviews'. I'm a random father of four, local to the area, who wanted to try a new spot. To care about my opinion, and share about the business decisions that went into trying to provide a good product demonstrates something that you don't find much of these days: you the customer matters, and I want you to have a good experience. That's enough for a repeat customer. I go to my barber for that reason: he cares and is personable. I go to my mechanic for that reason: he cares, tells me the truth, and is personable. I loved Bagel Knosh in my old neighborhood of New Brunswick NJ for this reason: the owner cared, knew my name, cared about the quality of his product, would ask about my family. DeliCozy strikes me as that type of business.
