FLAMEZ WOOD FIRED PIZZA — Restaurant in Gloucester Township

Stopped in because they advertised that they were a wood fired pizza place . Went in there , ordered .... Went back up to the counter to get some napkins and noticed that there was no wood inside of the oven .... so I asked the gentleman making the pizza , Why is there no wood in there ? .. He said I put it in there this morning ..... I said well it's 2:00 in the afternoon you have to keep wood inside there so that the crust is infused by the wood flavor .... I said that's why I came here ... he said I put it in there this morning .. I said again it's 2:00 in the afternoon ,, you have to keep wood inside of the oven for it to be wood flavored pizza ....He now realized he was in the uncomfortable position , of false advertisement .....I looked at the wood pile on the floor ,,, there was about a 1/4 inch of dust on there ... I told him it was false advertisement ... After that , he never came back out of the kitchen ....I don't think they want to use the wood because they don't want to buy new , or they're just too lazy to clean the ashes out at night.... After we left I thought back and remembered that I did not smell any woodsmoke , outside of the restaurant , when we pulled up .. if you're looking for wood fired pizza ,, don't go there ... Food...

Highly disappointed I left a review a few months back about how excited I was to finally find a pizza place I loved... well they definitely lost a loyal customer tonight!! Food came 1.5 hours after I ordered and friggen COLDDDDD!!!! I am beyond upset!! This pizza cold is unacceptable and disgusting!!

I called to complain and spoke to a lady named asil and she promised my order will be free next time so we will see if they actually will I’m so upset I had to feed my kids cold pizza after already waiting for 1.5 and this is flat bread pizza so putting them in the oven would have just burned them! Ugh

UPDATE: so I tried them again because I didn’t want to wait too long before they “forgot” that my next order was supposed to be free even thought they did not grant me What that the one employee promised they still gave me a meal big enough to feed me my husband and my 2 kids and it was back to being yummy!! The pizza was not cold this time and it arrived at a reasonable time! So I will just assume that last time was a short staffed that night and I was over reacting but hey I...

Saturday night my son-in-law & I ordered pick up from Flamez Wood Fired Pizza I told him to only order from the MEDITERRANEAN SPECIALS section of the menu. We had such a delicious feast words can not describe how wonderfully everything was prepared! I order all 3 of the Mediterranean Appetizers for us to share plus an order of the fresh pita bread for dipping. He had the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and I had the Shish Tawook wrap. Back at the house we kept saying to one another over & over, between bites, “This is so good”. I can’t say enough about the warm hospitality we received from the lady & gentleman behind the counter when we picked up our order. The pizza looked phenomenal, but I think I am going to work my way through all the rest of the MEDITERRANEAN SPECIALS before I do their pizza.
