Shivers Frozen Custard & Coffee — Restaurant in Godfrey

Went here with a friend for an after dinner birthday dessert and it hit the spot! Sadly for us it was thunderstorming on this particular night so we were only able to go through the drive through. The outside patio area is not covered and was closed.

We pulled up the menu on my friend's app while we waited. YES they have an app and you earn rewards - download it now! We thought we knew what we wanted... then we pulled up to the sign and they had even more options!

Many of the specialty sundaes mention the pecans... I kept reading it and I was like "omg what is so special about these pecans ". Well let me tell ya - I ended up ordered the german chocolate cake with chocolate custard, the pecans, coconut, chocolate topping and whip cream. The sundae was a big size (I ordered small) and looked amazing. I took the first bite and WOW, YES THE PECANS!!!! They are amazing! It's like they are maybe covered in some kind of sugar and toasted. WOW WOW WOW FIREWORKS! YES definitely order something with the pecans if you even kind of like nuts! They do not disappoint!

Overall I loved my sundae! LOVED IT! My friend also ordered a sundae and raved about hers as well (I don't remember what kind it was).

I love Shivers! A little too much actually. Lol. I wish I never would have tried the Caramel Eskimo Joe because I want one every day! 🙃 The service is always great. Employees are nice and pleasant even when they are crazy busy! I love how they come out to the car to get your order if they get backed up. The only feedback I would give is they need to work on their online rewards. It's hard to find and won't let me download the app because it's only for iPhone users. Unless maybe I'm not doing it right? The other thing that happened but wasn't a huge deal was a few times when they were busy I received my Eskimo Joe without the cardboard holder on the outside of the cup, which I absolutely love because you don't freeze your hand off while trying to drink it and they had caramel running all down the side of the cup... Which makes a horrible mess in the car and on my hands. I would rather wait a couple extra minutes for my drink than to receive it like that. So my only advice is to just slow down a little and make it right. That's what keeps the customers coming back. But like I said before everyone there has been very kind, helpful and welcoming every time I was there. A smile and tone of voice goes a long way! They definitely have that...

Great place for a treat...normally. Went there last night and one of the girls working the drive thru, dealing directly with 100s of customers was not wearing a mask. Also the girls working the front window had their masks pulled down below their chins talking face to face with customers. We asked the girl in the outside drive thru line taking orders(also not masked, but with the possibility of somewhat distancing outside) if the drive thru girl would put a mask on, she tried to say that she was wearing one, but it was super clear she wasn't and wasn't going to put one on......so we had to leave with no treat! Super disappointed!
