I came with my boyfriend to try a new restaurant - he loves pub food. It looked like a fun way to spend date night. We waited 45 minutes un aware it was better to make reservation, which is fine. Unfortunately it went downhill quickly.
Once sat down we stayed over an hour... It took 15 minutes before the waitstaff greet us and take our drinks / order only to disappear after bring our soda 10 minutes later. Waited 45 minutes for our pretzel, which was barely luke warm. NO comunication from other staff or offer to refill drinks. 17 to go order were ordered or fullfilled (12 were walk up orders, 5 by phone). Still no word on our food or offer to refill drinks. Very poor kitchen execution for dining, the table behind us had their drinks, appetizer, meal and dessert in the 45 minutes we waited for our pretzel. An ENTIRE meal in the space we sat there patiently waiting for our appetizer. When I finally saw the manager and approached them, I was initially dismissed as they was busy dealing with waitstaff not rolling silverware... they were out and 4 hostesses clustered the stand. Upon leaving they did not heistate to clear the table by the time we reached the door. I have never had such dismal service. Not looking for anything free, just an honest opinion about poor kitchen execution, management attention, and overall a very disappointing experience. We will not be going back for a second attempt. Having been a server myself I understand short staff or rushes but all of these could have been avoided easily by an attentive staff and...
Read moreLast night my husband and I stopped in to eat while enjoying a much needed date night. Though our personal past experiences with this Chips and Ale have not been worth while, it seemed better than the fast food chain options likewise buffet.
Our visit started off well we were asked if we would like a table as the booths were all reserved we assume. No biggy. The hostess took us to our table where we informed her of our past experiences being poor in regards to the quality of food service as well service from staff. She apologized and went about her business inquiring about if a certain drink could be made for us.
Our server Miss Jamee was amazing, kind, informative, attentive, and overall welcoming which was a nice change. Miss Sierra tending bar WAS able to create our drink of choice which was muchly appreciated as well. So as for service this go around they did a wonderful job.
Lastly, sadly...the food. We had ordered shrimp havarti for an appetizer..there was little to no havarti on the shrimp, the toast was so badly burnt it was inedible which the grilled chicken upon my Ceaser salad was almost to that same point as well rather just shy. My husband seemed to enjoy his dinner so all and all it was a good evening out. I personally wish we lived in closer proximity to Firelake as the overall quality of they restaurants is worth the extra one hundred fifty mile one way drive.. Riverwind chefs I ask that you please do better. Have a...
Read moreThe service at chips and ale was the worst service I have ever had. Our server Jessica was inattentive, rude and flat out ignored us.
We had to wait 20 minutes to order in a fairly empty restaurant, our drinks were never refilled, I requested to move tables, which Jessica replied "That she would check to see if it was clean."then didn't come back tI'll well after our food was delivered, and never said one thing or another on the table.
After 30 minutes, we still had not received our salads.
We finally receive our food from another much friendlier server, but after requesting the salad our meals came with, it was still another 10 minutes before we received them.
I had to ask for the cake our meals came with too, which we got to go.
I had to request a to go box for our left overs from 3 different servers before we got one from Jessica, and was completely ignored when I asked for a sack to carry our 3 boxes our.
As far as the food go's, I got the grilled chicken and rice.I couldn't eat the chicken due to it being so dry.
The plate was horrible looking with a peice of chicken and a scoop of rice thrown all over the plate with no garnish.
Altogether, it was a horrible experience, in which I do not plan on reliving...
