The food here is excellent. It reminded me of the meals I had growing up. This is simple classic home cooked Mexican. I always judge the Mexican restaurant by the beans and rice. The rice was fluffy and the beans mildly seasoned and cooked until almost fallings apart. This is just how I make them at home myself.

One specialty are the chille rellenos. I never do these myself because they are too much work. These were done perfect. You could tell the chilles were fresh, not from a can like many places. All the seeds and skins were removed, lightly battered and covered with a light tomatoes herb sauce and finished with a sprinkle of Mexican cheese.

I also had a chicken mole enchilada. The chicken was shredded with a red chille sauce, stuffed in a corn tortilla and covered with a thick chocolaty mole. Last a small side of fresh sliced cabbage.

I am from out of town so I won't be coming back anytime soon, but I am going to remember this meal for a while. Simple food done with care just like you would get...

4/23 Sunday @ 3pm... a few restaurant goers. A young couple, a older couple, a mid-size family.

price wise: about $12 to $16 per dish. service wise: lagging a bit - Got checked on 3 times in 40 minutes. Never got a water refill. proportions: Nachos-with steak - large. Filled me up. taste / flavor: the food was delicious, hot, and fresh. environment: Alive, well planned out, real flowers, and smelled great.

Indoors & outdoor ambience is modern and welcoming. Theme music filled the space. The nacho place was large, and I did not feel like I was being nickeled & dimed for sour cream or guacamole. Guests are offered some complementary chips and salsa. My dish was on the table in 5 - 6 minutes. The server was authentic, polite, and welcoming.

Ideal for an inexpensive stay-cation experience....

We arrived around 9:30am and there was nobody inside but we decided to take the risk anyways. What a pleasant rewarding surprise! I have ordered Huevos with Machacas and honestly, they were the best I ate in my life, and I go to Mexico every year and eat this same dish very often there. My husband also loved his chilaquiles and said they were the best in town! Service was good but not wonderful. We asked for hot chocolate for our young daughters and waitress came back saying they didn't have it, which it was a little disappointing since it's such an easy thing to prepare. Other than that, just wonderful food besides being a beautiful and well decorated environment! Totally recommend this place and we will be coming...

You’re missing the best breakfast in town. The owner is an expert barista. I had an almond latte with cinnamon and the scramble with nopales (opuntia cactus) and California chiles (not spicy). Also try horchata with a shot of espresso for lunch. The portion was enormous and the flavors were fresh and exciting! The potatoes were so crispy. I used to frequent this restaurant years ago for their healthy soups. I’m so pleased that this is now a woman-owned local restaurant. This is a must visit for specialty Mexican breakfasts and coffee brews. Also a great spot for gluten-free options.

Great Mexican food! Unique art and large banquet room. Consistently great service and presentation. The sopes are so fresh! Try the pollo enlechado! Like nothing we've had before! 4/21...Still solid with great service! We miss Alex but are glad the tradition continues ☺️...prior reviewer said salsa bar...umm no . But great salsa to your table! Great mole! 10/30. Another Fantastic dinner! My son loves the fried chicken tacos! My wife loves the Enchiladas, and I love the Mole...

Was looking for something new to try aside from our regular fast food stop. So we decided to stop by at del pueblo cafe. The service here was great. They had our food out in a short time and no long wait. The food tasted good and what gets them 5 stars is their customer service. The attendant was very fast at getting our orders and checking in on us very often. Would definitely recommend.
