The portions are reasonable as are the prices. I must admit the food does bring my grandmother’s cooking to mind. Keep in mind that this is NOT a place to take your date. This is strictly a working man’s joint. It has the ambiance of a poverty stricken Mexican grandmother’s kitchen. Which is not bad, just not a place to impress a girlfriend. Although the staff is friendly, service is extremely poor. No exaggeration, you may literally walk in, sit down, and wait a half hour before anyone in the kitchen notices you’ve arrived. There are no salt or pepper shakers on the tables. Order coffee and you’ll likely receive powdered creamer. The coffee is horrible. I would like to enjoy two beers with my meal. That doesn’t often happen. Why? Because they bring your order, disappear, and do not return.
Also, the food is inconsistent. Most of the time, the food is quite good, flavorful. Often times, it’s a bit too salty.
