We ate dinner here on a Saturday night. When walking through the front door there was a stand with no one there and a nearly empty restaurant. We started to look around and the man I think is the owner was walking through and greeted us and told us to sit anywhere we liked. They have a restaurant on the right hand side and a bar towards the left. We sat in the restaurant and were alone for a bit. It picked up shortly after that.
First up, I would come back here and we enjoyed what we had. But I would not be in a hurry if you are coming here to eat. We ordered an appetizer and entrees between the two of us. All said and done it took probably 1.5 hours or a little over to get done. The appetizer was the loaded chips. They were good. Tasted fresh. More appetizing than the picture gives them credit for. For entrees I ordered the massive stuffed burger and my wife ordered a cheeseburger. Mine was cooked more to my liking while hers was slightly overcooked. All that being said the food was good and we were happy with what we paid.
Overall feels like an establishment that is starting off as a mom and pop kind of place. Slightly old fashioned. I think they could benefit from some additional staff and things like a point of sale solution to cut down on the running back and forth. This would help ticket times and I think give better service. I really can't be mad at all because we did get good service. The man was running probably 15 different tables so it was a decent experience. I'd likely bump it up to 5 stars if the wait times were a little quicker.
In any event, quality of the food for the price was worth it. Just don't be in a hurry to get it....
Read moreI have heard of Montana's for a very long time. Recently my husband's coworker mentioned how good food was at montana's and I also read it in local paper. So we decided to try. We went during the week so it was not busy, not sure where to park but found the back lot with lots of spaces. OMG, after going there three time the past couple months we decided not to tell anyone about it and keep this awesome place a secret. I know, selfish as it is this place will knock your socks off. STEAK /ribeye or strip. We always get the ribeye and it comes at market value for various weights. My husband has not hit the 30 oz but close at 28. The seasonings is perfection and really cooked to order. It does take time when busy but they are cooking it as you requested. So either play on your phone or talk to your partner. Sit back and relax. Mashed potatoes are perfect,my husband gets the lobster mac which I haven't tried be he absolutely love it. I added shrimp with my steak and they were very good a slightly sweet batter and it reminded me of coconut shrimp. Unsweetened tea was the best I have had. Desserts are plentiful we always take ours home. Best so far was the homemade banana pudding. This is our new favorite steak place and we feel better than the high-end ones in town. You can get steak,2 sides, dessert, and soft drinks under 100$. Can't beat that! Also, just to let you know all staff are very friendly and service is great. Our server was Natalie and she made sure we always have what we wanted. We had several requests and she made sure we were well...
Read moreAs always I love to read the bad reviews prior to going. I do this to get a sense of who is complaining. Well there's a common theme of folks who just are out here to spew nonsense or to somehow believe they hover above all others.
Look folks, mistakes will happen and food won't be perfect every time. It's called being a human and working with different shapes and sizes of items at differing temperatures and speeds, all while trying to keep Captain Picky from demolishing a place because his poor little feelings were hurt by pink in his burger. Fortunately, unlike cancer, this can be fixed and all without an attitude from a customer or magic on the cooks end. It's called cook it more and wait a few more minutes. If you want quick and cookie cutter go to McDonalds. Also don't wait until you leave to complain with your passive aggressive expert opinions.
Rant over... now onto my experience.
Never been to Montana's until tonight. We stopped in after finding it online. From the start we had solid service, never went without a drink, and the food was on point. The portions are generous and the price to value is off the charts. I had the 16oz Ribeye, Loaded Baked Potato and a Side Salad (thanks for having 1000 Island, btw!!). It was cooked right, and it was delicious!
NOW THE BANANA PUDDING. It is "Mom's Recipe" and hands down is one of the most delicious things I have EVER eaten. Not just dessert wise. I mean any food... EVER!
We will be back and we will bring others with...
