Been here quite a few times. Its still... average. Prices seem a little high. And hard to find out what it costs. You can ask the staff, but of course they have no idea without ringing it up. Still. So its a pretty frustrating process if you don't order off the paper menu. Still. Its been a few months and I haven't seen much progress. And it still feels like a tomb. Or a very industrial space that isn't meant to be enjoyed for any significant period of time. I feel like its too bright at night? Too cold, sterile. Hard to describe. The bar is best seating. But thats becuase you'll just want to be away from the rest of the space. We still pop in, but less frequently.
Food is all over the place with zero consistency, even on the same table. Much less the next week. Coffee flight is a fun idea, but impossible to drink without making a mess. And they take forever to make, are expensive, and while subjective of course - between two people, we've never been able to drink the whole thing. Way way too much sugar. Its closer to soda than coffee in some of those. The cocktails and beer are where they really shine. But again, its hard to find any value here. Zero happy hour. No old fashioned specials.... In Wisconsin. Tap beer is about the only place you'll find any value, but again, even that, is all over the place. So to find a deal, you have to search the website on your phone for 4 minutes. Its just so tedius and frustrating for staff and costomer alike. Which you can see on their website, in the menu(s). They would need an experienced staff of more than double what they have now to showcase a menu half that size. So thats what it is, a place that tries to do everything, and sorta does. Just not very well. Still. I'm hopeful once they find their footing, they can really take off. But for now, expect to feel the...
Read moreI am all about supporting small businesses, and I really want to love this place. The cocktails are fun and the atmosphere is a super cute lounge vibe. I can't comment on food as I have not tired it. The reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the Bartender, Vince, has consecutively been rude to me every time I have gone in. If you have children this IS NOT the place for you. He makes you feel SUPER uncomfortable for being there with your child, and will give you looks and even make comments. I have heard of a few other families having similar experiences as well. He says "I'm not mean, I'm just blunt." Totally fine, however maybe you should not be working service industry then if you can't at lease pretend to be nice to your patrons who would just like to enjoy a night out with their family. I completely understand if you are a bar/cocktail lounge that caters to those 21+ and does not prefer children be in there, however why have highchairs then? It's unfortunate because we have friends who love to visit BSG, however I will not be returning as long as Vince...
Read moreI really hate leaving bad reviews but when the food is this bad and I spent as much money as I did, I really feel I have no choice. First, we ordered a chicken quesadilla and not only was it way too crunchy for my toddlers to even eat, it had black olives in it ? Peppers and black beans ? On a spinach wrap, not even a tortilla… extremely confusing. Then I ordered samosas which I’ve had many times at various restaurants and made at home, I’m not sure what these were but they were not any samosa I’ve ever had, the crust was more like pizza dough & the flavor was absolutely terrible. Last, I ordered a double chocolate muffin to try to salvage the experience and not only was that bland, since it was placed next to the banana nut muffins, it tasted slightly of bananas… I wasted well over $30 trying to treat my daughters to a little lunch date and support a new local business when we could’ve gone somewhere else and spent that money on food we could actually enjoy. Extremely disappointing, we were very excited about the opening...
