Information relevant to story: Sometimes with debit cards, the card will be swiped, the transaction reported in your bank account but not the card system of the establishment you’re paying at. You then have to wait 1-2 business days for the charged to be removed from your bank account.
We went out to Cancun’s for dinner. The bill was $75. I had $126 in my account. They run the card. One of those run/not recorded transactions happened. So now $75 is taken out leaving me with $46. They come back and tell me my card is declined.
I ask to speak to the manager. A young woman comes over to my table, I show her the transaction in my account, which also displays my remaining balance of $46. They take my card again, after I told them it already took the transaction and they can’t run it again because there isn’t enough funds to cover it a second time. They run my card for $46, without asking me first; then come back to the table with a receipt for $46, and asking me to pay the remaining $25. I then show them my bank account showing a charge now for $75 AND a charge for $46, with my balance clearly showing I now have $0 to my name. They tell me I have to pay. I explain to her they have already charged my account well over $100, and at this point there is nothing I can do but see if the money is put back into my account in the 1-2 days, leave them my contact information and if the transaction is in fact deleted, return to the restaurant and pay them first thing Monday (this happened Saturday after my bank was closed). At no point was I hostile or rude, I was certainly frustrated as they charged my card more than was due and were telling me I hadn’t paid, but I wasn’t rude. At this point the woman I THOUGHT was the manager says “Let me ask my boss.” I offer to leave the table to speak to her directly and so we do.
I start explaining to the woman the situation again. She says to me “If you had the money in the account it wouldn’t have been declined. When we ran it for $46 it wasn’t declined, so you just didn’t HAVE the $75. If you didn’t have the money to pay for your meals & drinks you shouldn’t have come out to dinner.”
She blatantly called me a liar who purposefully came out to eat without the money to pay, after physically seeing with her own eyes the transaction and all funds to cover it were in my account at the time of each transaction they swiped.
I ended up leaving the restaurant my contact information & my license number (which she then verified, as she clearly did not trust my integrity) and I intend to go back and pay them IF the transactions “falls off” my account.
The only thing I did wrong here was not have an abundance of money in my account so I could be double charged when their system had an error. I don’t think that warranted the extremely rude behavior from the owner or manager of this establishment. I will certainly pay what is owed if it was truly an error, but we won’t be visiting again. I suggest you pay cash, or have a couple extra hundred bucks in your account in case of their error ruining...
Read moreFIRST OFF...I don't give 5 stars all the time, but this place is the best Mexican restaurant I have worked with and eaten. Our experience is pick up so I haven't actually seen the quality of the place. We called in our order and they actually worked with me and got our full order complete, we ordered 9 meals. They worked with me and helped me figure out exactly the order and even repeated the it to me with all the small changes we wanted. When the food was picked up, it was NOT in small containers, just thrown in, with little care. They spent the time to put the food in appropriate size containers, with big portions for each meal, and even taped up the salsas and soup we ordered so it wouldn't spill in the car. The best part was eating it, the food tasted better picked up and at home than most places I have been to where it's supposed to come out"fresh." I ate the Taxana Chimichanga and it was delicious, and I was satisfied for the rest of the night. To coclude, they are awesome to work with and order, the food came correctly with no mistake and packages nicely, and finally the food was amazing and filled me up. I will definitely come here everytime I visit family in...
Read moreService is horrible. Ordered a delivery order on doordash and restaurant did not get the order right. I called the owner and explained what had happened and owner had no compassion or did he want to try and help. He said that he doesn't have delivery and i asked if he would be able to deliver the order and he said absolutely not. I asked him how he can help me and he said that he could refund my card but not over the phone, i would have to drive there to get the refund for the item that wasn't delivered. It it was thing to make a mistake but it is not okay to make a mistake and not try to fix it for the customer. I will never order from there again, despite how good their food is. Poor service does not deserve the money that i work hard for. I do not understand how a business now a days is still running when there is customer service is horrible. What makes this restaurant better than any other? There is nothing without...
