The food was very very good especially the sweet potato fries. I had the avocado/turkey melt and it was much better than I expected. I planned on the smash burger, but they had not gotten their food deliveries truck. Someone at my table had the waffle fries and they were good too. We had the pretzel bites as an appetizer, which were good especially the beer cheese. The BLT at my table had a ton of bacon and they said it was great.
The service was not even a little bit good. The waitress came to take drink order's and we asked for a minute to decide, which turned into a LONG time. Bar tender is who came over and then the waitress showed up to take orders. Then after she brought the drinks she disappeared again and we waited so long that I had literally forgotten we had not ordered! When she came and got our orders for our lunch, it was over 30 minutes and we still had no food. I flagged her down for a drink refill and we ordered an appetizer. When that finally arrived we fell on it like starved dogs. Finally our food arrived. To give you a real example, we met for lunch at 12:15 and walked in. We left right after eating after 2. This is a new place and there is always little hiccups in a new place, but in my opinion the waitress needs SERIOUS retraining. Sorry that is harsh, but towards the end of lunch I flagged her again for a refill and to-go boxes and she handed me a to-go cup I saw her carrying out of the kitchen like it was hers, before walking over to see what I wanted and she handed me the cup. I said thank you. I drank it, but she had not gone back to get me a drink, she was walking out of the kitchen with the drink. I thought it was hers? Seriously. So the food is great. The service needs work. The bar tender was doing more than working the...
Read moreAlways a bit leery of trying brand new pubs. What got my attention was the fact that the owner responded to the negative reviews in a polite manner. So we tried it out.
Upon entering it was a little warm, I think the AC might have been out. It was also 105 heat index outside. So take that into consideration.
Regardless of the semi warm climate the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is nice. Lots of high tops. A bar that seats 10. And a low top table that seats 8. The juke box played lots of classic rock which was right up my alley.
I am a Coors light man myself, but they did not have that on tap. Cold bottles though, that made for it a bit. lol.
Megan was our server and did not let our drinks go dry. She was fantastic, she had some great food recommendations that were on point.
On to the food. This is one of the first pubs I've been to that have a charcuterie board for an app. It was delicious! Highly recommend.
I ordered the Philly steak, sweet potato fries and macaroni salad. The macaroni salad was tasty, just needs a bit of salt and pepper to give it that extra flavor. Sweet potato fries were on point. Very good. The Philly was good. At first I didn't taste a lot of flavor but then I took the top bun off. Without the bread the steak and peppers were amazing.
Overall I give this establishment an A. Would recommend and we will...
Read moreWorth The Drive! The Local Table was shown as being just under a half hour drive from my house, but reviews we had seen for the pork tenderloin sandwich (Thursdays) convinced us to make the drive. We were not disappointed. We both ordered the pork tenderloin and onion rings. Before trying the tenderloin I took a bite of an onion ring to figure out how much salt and pepper to add and whether to use ketchup or request ranch dressing. I was amazed to find that the seasoning on the rings was so good I did not want to mess it up adding anything. I'm sure ranch would have been good with it, but that was not necessary. I ordered my tenderloin with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo and requested a bit of extra mayo as I normally smother my tenderloin with mayo or Miracle Whip. Again, the seasoning was perfect and the pork was thick and juicy. This is not one of those frisbee sized pieces of meat and was not one with a dry breading surface. The breading was a bit oily but that didn't make it taste greasy or in any way detract from the flavor or texture. This was by far the best pork tenderloin I've ever eaten. I would love to try other menu items, but if we're back on a Thursday I probably won't be able to stop myself from ordering the tenderloin sandwich again.
Service was great and it felt like a nice small town atmosphere. Overall a very nice place. But the star of this trip was...
