What began as a desire for a simple seafood burrito after going shopping with some family quickly turned into an unsatisfying trip down pallete-town. Upon observation you'd think I had ordered a side salad to go with my meal. I did not, yet it was dressed in strips upon strips upon strips of lettuce. "Why yes, I'd LOVE some burrito with my salad!" said no one, ever. The burrito was lame and dull, very disappointing. The only thing I liked about it was the stuffing of warm-ish crab and shrimp. Meh. Creamy sauce? Nope, a few different cheeses (spanning different countries of origin, feint traces of queso, Monterey, etc.) carelessly drizzled on the hapless-assembled burrito in what I would say was a poor attempt at a proper roux. I can't give them credit for being quick, unfortunately. I ordered my meal, a Corona with lime, and my mother's meal. I get worried when our food takes less than 7 minutes to come out of the kitchen. What's more, after we got our bill, regular ND folk are sitting behind us and the server asks what they'd like to order. "Whatcha got that is like a Taco Grande or Stuffed Taco? (from Taco John's or Taco Bell)" I couldn't help but face-palm epically and laugh into my shirt, until I could pull myself together enough to get up and pay at the front. Classic.

One of the good places for affordable Mexican & little to no wait. Not entirely sure it's authentic but it's still good! We just went there & they have a new fall menu that you really should try. (Hopefully they move the two things we had to the regular menu). We had the guac as an app and it wasn't quite what we were expecting but it was okay. Really creamy (no chunks like you expect) and could have used a touch more salt and/or lime. We had the Mexican Jambalaya, flavors were awesome, rice was a tad dry for our taste but it was made with Spanish rice, but the fried shrimp...just give me a plate of those & I'd be happy. They were terrific! We also had the Mexican Street Corn Po'Boy and that was fenominal!! A chipolte tartar, spicy coleslaw, corn salsa, & the same perfectly fried shrimp...I was in heaven! We love the friendly staff that always greets us with a smile & we will always continue to come back.

I went to this restaurant for nostalgia of my years as a teen in Grand Forks ND. Overall I had a good experience. I was greeted immediately when I walked in the door and seated. It was around 3pm on a Saturday. You are provided chips and salsa. Which they have done for many years. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Surprisingly, it still looked very much the same from my teen years. I ordered the beef burrito with chili con queso. It was basic but it was hot and fresh. The service was very good. The waitress was very attentive and made sure I had beverages filled and provided chips and salsa as needed.

This was a major disappointment with significant concerns about maintenance at the restaurant. The food itself was fine, small portions but tasted fine. However after leaving I was questioning how the rest of the night was going to go...

So in the middle of our meal, my son needed to use the restroom. I asked where they were and followed their directions down a hall and past some electrical panels to the men's room. He did his thing, but when leaving the restroom we were unable to get out. The door handle was turning, but the mechanics in the latch were not responding to the handle turn. We fought with the door for over a minute and a half trying to get out, including knocking on the door with no response. Finally I got it to release enough to pry the lat with a key in my pocket and get out...

I mentioned the door handle issue to a server, not mad just basically mentioning it should get looked at before someone gets trapped in there longer. Her response was "We know, its just what happens with the heat and humidity in the summer". I said no, its a mechanical door handle and needs repair to which she said we will get to it...

We finished the meal and were provided with a non-itemized receipt. We always look over the receipts to make sure they are good, especially in a large group setting as we had 12+ people at the table to split checks up. We had to find a menu to compare a verify which it was correct. I don't remember the last restaurant I have been to that doesn't have a way to do itemized receipts.

Upon checking out, I mentioned the door handle issue to the teller and received the same response involving heat and humidity. At that point I knew the owner has to know about this and is just failing to repair the door handle.

If the owner of the restaurant knows about a door handle issue and cannot repair a $10 part, what do the maintenance records of the food storage or other more important equipment items look like? I am concerned the maintenance is lacking and will not...

Very disappointed with the “Mexican” food served here. I lived in Central Texas for 6 years, so maybe my standards were set too high when I ate there. The salsa seemed to be straight out of a can without much flavor and the same can be said about the rice and beans. I love chimichangas, so that is what I get at every Mexican restaurant and that is how I compare my experiences. I have had many different sauces on top of my chimichangas like Queso, red sauce, green sauce, and even jalapeño ranch (which is delicious by the way), but here the chimichangas come with brown turkey gravy. Really, brown turkey gravy on Mexican food?! It’s not a Thanksgiving meal! Not only was there brown turkey gravy on the chimichangas but the gravy had a metal taste to it, like it came from a metal can. This is the only chimichanga that I had ever not finished. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time, but unfortunately after my food was dropped off, the only time the waitress stopped back at my table was to drop my bill off. She never stopped by and asked me how my food was or if I needed a refill on my beverage. I was excited to find a different sit down Mexican food place in Grand Forks other than Paradiso, but unfortunately I was very disappointed, which is saying a lot because the Paradiso in Grand Forks is not up to par compared to the other Paradisos (Bismarck & Fargo). Not that Paradiso is the answer for Mexican food either, but at least they don’t serve Thanksgiving toppings on their...

Had dinner here earlier around 7pm, food was very mediocre, the only good thing about the food was the rice and the queso for the chips. The service was terrible and then to top it off on the check they added their own tip. I could understand adding a tip on the bill if you were someplace like texas roadhouse or red lobster with better quality food. The salsa tasted like it was straight out of a can of just crushed tomatoes, the beans tasted like they were straight out of a can as well and were very bland like you didn't even try to hide the fact they were from a can. The burito that I had was gross and dry. But enough about the food. Our waitress didn't even care enough to stop and check on us to see how the food was, left my boyfriend having to ask for a refill on his drink as she passed by the table more than once without even checking to see if we were alright. Another patron of the restaurant had to chase a waiter down and ask for a refill for his drink. All in all a very horrible experience and we will not be back to the establishment. I hope people read the reviews and realize the bad reviews are the very thing that will happen to them unless the place trains their wait staff better, allows the customer to choose the tip because the tip you gave yourselves is that of excellent service and this was piss poor service. 10/10 DO NOT...
