Rumors Lounge — Restaurant in Grand Forks

We did not have a pleasant experience. We went in for lunch about 1. Neither one of us had ever eaten there before. So we sat down at a booth and looked at the tabletop menu. When the male server came over to talk to us, I asked if there was another menu. His visible body sigh made it obvious that my request was a little too much for him to handle. He seemed very rushed even though there were only about 10 people total in there. After about 10 minutes he came back and took our order. We ordered chips and queso as an appetizer. Then a cheeseburger and fries and soup and salad. Not a difficult order. He seemed very stressed out. We got our food but no appetizer. So we figured we weren't getting it. Especially since there was no communication from him as to why we didn't get it first. My very plain soup or "cheese water" and salad cost more than my friends cheeseburger and fries. Mid way through the meal, our appetizer arrived. It was fairly unappealing but we were hungry so we ate some of it. He never checked back for refills on drinks or to ask how everything was. We waited at least 10 minutes after we were done hoping to pay. He was just standing behind the bar not doing anything. So my friend went and asked for the bill. He brought it to us and my friend had her cash out but he immediately started to walk away as if he was so busy with something else. He wasn't. We were absolutely not impressed and won't be going back. It honestly doesn't take much to be friendly even if you are busy. He acted like we were more of a nuisance than anything. For someone who counts on tips, this isn't a good...

Horrible service from Bartender, Scott. Had to flag him down for everything....drinks, food order, utensils, glass of ice, bill. Other people were greeted and served better. Again A bar in town where the staff eats finger food behind the bar and commences handling the patrons mugs and glasses and bottles without washing their hands. FYI It's a health code violation....even before a pandemic I left...
