Very welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant /bar, friendly attentive knowledgeable staff, shot out to Tony and Tegan behind the bar,we were singing together as soon as I sat down. Which was very cool. Food came out fast, I got to try the butter nut squash soup, very good, it warms up your soul... In house buttered cod filet with fries and coleslaw was tasty just needed little salt. Couldn't finish it all so I will have another tasty meal for later. Check it out and enjoy yourself at the Tavern, bring your little ones

I love the Tavern on GameDay! Whether it be a Fighting Hawks football game, hockey game or a concert , the Tavern is a great place to be! I love their burgers, and the wing special on Wednesdays and Thursdays will make this place a weekly go-to. Service Is always good. My favorite server/bartender is Tony. He sings and makes everyone feel welcome and entertained their whole meal! Tony pours the meanest Busch Light this side of the Red River!

The waitresses were alright. The food wasn’t bad but not worth the cost. One thing we ordered were their classic nachos. The jalapeños looked like they’d been sitting out for days. They had minimal melted shredded cheese that had already hardened. Salsa tasted & looked like it came out of a jar. And there’s a whole nacho section on their menu… But it’s the only restaurant open at the Canad Inn hotel right now so there’s that.

Appalling Service and Awful Food!

I hope I had read reviews before setting foot there. Right from get go it was a ghetto. We visited the water park on holidays and thought of eating at this place because it was right there. There were 4 servers at the door and were all busy chit-chatting among themselves. We waited 10 minutes before someone zipped passed out table while making a remark, 'Be right there with you guys' and it took her another 6 minutes to come back to take our orders. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and the waitresses were either talking among themselves or to bunch of guys playing pool. The waitress returned with my beer 10 minutes later and informed us that the other beverage wasn't available that we ordered for my wife. We ordered another one and it took her another 5-6 minutes to get it to the table. While placing it on table she spilled some of it and goes to get napkins to return 2 minutes later. She doesn't bother to wipe down and just throws the napkins on table and scoots away. The food arrived in another 20 minutes. We ordered wings, fried fish fingers and a steak. These were the worst ever chicken wings and fried fish. It was bone dry and hard as a rock! I had finished my first pint of beer before the food arrived and knowing how slow they are I ordered a 22 oz beer. The waitress didn't return for another 15 minutes while she zipped pass us couple of times without making any eye contact. I hailed her down on her cruise down the aisle and asked if she forgot my beer. She indeed did! She was apologetic but took another 6 minutes to get the beer. Food was cold, the beer slightly below room temperature.

We were not given any serviettes before the food arrived. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins when dinner was on table! It took her another 5-6 minutes before returning with them.

The music was way too loud that you can't have a conversation!

It seems to me there is no supervision in that place and bunch of girls are just whiling their time and wasting others time there.

I usually leave 10-20% tip behind. This was first time in when I left none but a note about the terribly slow service!

While the food was terrible, I'm more disappointed about the service. I can see many other diners have had similar experiences and the fact that it continues to happen only shows that there's no...

We are foodies and love to travel to new venues/locations we have never tried before. Our waitress, Jessica, was amazing, attentive and continuously kept checking on us. We tried several different appetizers from traditional wings to poutine. The first pound of wings were a lemon pepper rub, very good, a little on the salty side, yet still very good. The second pound of wings was a raspberry chipotle sauce, very good, had a little spicy kick on the back end that gave it a better flavor than the lemon pepper. Cauliflower wings that were deep fried, with a honey garlic sauce that was good. The Edamame was amazing. Sweet potato fries and we ordered bbq sauce to go with and they were very good. The poutine was very dry, no gravey, no melted cheese (cheese curds) and bacon and onions that were hard to find with chili that tasted like it came from a can. Drinks were okay, what we expected as far as drinks go. They also had a liquor vender that was letting them sample there products right next to us in the bar. Being foodies and also bar owners, of course we piped up for a taste and got totally ignored (could have been another sale for them, won't happen now). As we were leaving, brought it up to the managers that if they are going to do tastings like that in the bar/public area that patrons shouldn't be ignored or judged as we are food critics and bar owners only to be told we weren't judged and the lady doing the presentation wasn't allowed to give us a taste as they then say (in the same sentence) the actual person they buy from was right there as well. The establishment as a whole was very nice. The service we got was amazing and the food and drinks were worthy of a...

I have gone to the tavern a few times now and here's what you need to know. I am not sure if the entire menu is WAY overpriced or the portion sizes are WAY to small, I mean seriously a slider (BBQ to be specific) was super tiny, two pieces of "Boneless chicken wing" on a tiny bun and it was almost $5 alone... to put that into perspective I could've bought an entire pizza somewhere else; their entire menu is priced like this. food quality overall is just okay, almost on par with Buffalo Wild Wings or Applebees, the restaurant is overall cozy interior however the music was blasting when we went and that's not an over exaggeration. I may give the tavern yet another chance but maybe when their prices are reduced or when you get a bigger bang for your buck. To add on the time before this I ordered boneless wings and a beer and ended up getting charged for two beers and I got bone in...
