I have eaten here several times. The foods not bad. I live just across the street. Mikes BBQ has a great big gravel area behind his store. I came in from the back side because I needed a place to park my 2nd truck for a while that I had loaned to my son. I was helping my son look for a motel around the area because he wasn't allowed in my home because management where I live accused me of lying to them about my son. Mikes BBQ was just across the street. Mikes BBQ has signs from the front entry of Belt Line that towing is inforced. Thats all good. I came from the back and didn't see any of his signs. I deserved to have my truck towed. I didn't ask for permission to leave it there. What was crazy is when I came back to drop my son off to pick up my other truck. He called the police on me in minutes. Didn't even give me time to get the wrecker service number off his signs and call them to locate my truck. Not only did he call the police he called the wrecker service he used and told them that trouble was headed his way. Why after towing a persons vehicle would this business owner not give them time to get the numbers and locate where their vehicle was towed from is beyond me. We didn't do harm to his property. We didn't even try to hide being there. We parked under a street lamp and everything we did could be seen on camera. Why would he call the...

These folks here were happy to feed us (absolutely full) with unforgettable charm and company while we ate… all while you could tell they were as happy to be there!
We ate REAL food- I had Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, Baked Potato, Green Beans, and Real TEXAS Toast! The BBQ was Portioned to PERFECTION!
Nothing was bulk processed or trucked in. You can tell Mike & his Daughter are selective about the starting ingredients and are sure about every plate they serve over that counter.
Can’t get that at near any other place.
(Ask about how Mike’s BBQ here was worked through channels @ NASA by Astronauts after having eaten here!)
HINT: If the Restaurant Grounds are Well Established, the food and the service is genuine and has achieved a level of desirability held among any customers fortunate enough to have come here - and that’s absolutely true for this place.
They’re a Short drive from DFW, best to consider a first AND last stop if you’re visiting!
Mike also mentioned they cater. (Catering incoming visitors with Food from Mike’s RPBBQ would surely go favorably!)
More work ahead for us in Dallas and this will be a fixture for us! See you in the Fall!...
Read moreFirst time trying this spot. First off...not all reviews are accurate. Let's dive in, the ribs didn't taste as fresh. Ribs was a bit salty, potatoe salad was over powered by mustard. The corn, was cooked in water, no salt, sugar, or no butter. The green beans same thing. The brisket wasn't brisketing. The sausage was delicious but how do you mess that up. The ham was good too, but again how do you mess up ham. The bread was better than the sauce that everyone talked about. I'm sry, I'm from Florida I had such high expectations. The spot looked like a hole in the wall, but a lot of times thats where the best foods are. Sorry just not at Mike's, bbq pit! I think their should be more sides on the menu at all times. The two staff members that were there was the most nicest. But that not enough to make up for how the food taste. I feel like these reviews couldn't have been real, these might be reviews for family and friends. I'll never go back. What a waste of money. You be the judge,...
