Fu Garden is our favorite Chinese restaurant in this part of Grand Rapids. They have a wide variety of menu selections, and it's prepared freshly for you after your order it. I've been going there to eat for a decade now, and have never gotten a botched order, or been served anything but the best quality of ingredients. A word to you people who feel that you are being treated rudely by the restaurant's owners. Try to put yourself in their shoes for a moment. It's just the 2 of them working there. They come in first thing in the morning, do the prep work, make the food to order. You won't find a steam table buffet there. They are always very busy, and they give 100 percent to their business. Also, English is more than likely not their first language. It may be possible that they're having a hard time understanding you, especially if you are not enunciating your words properly, or having a second conversation with your girlfriend at the same time. So, try being patient, and please be polite. They really are nice people, and they make excellent food. And, their prices are outstanding. I don't think they've raised them once since I have been going there. Anyone who has worked in a restaurant knows how hard that work is. A smile, a thank you, and some change in the piggy bank if you've got some to spare will show you a different side of the people at Fu Garden. That, and the fine food, will bring you back...
Read moreCustomer service isn't that good the lady on the phone and in the restaurant is fairly curt and not polite. The food was not that great I got the General Tso's chicken and a Hot and Sour soup. The soup was as described in the menu but not worth writing home about. The fried rice was basic as its hard to mess up. But the chicken was frankly not good. Firstly I have never had General Tso's that wasn't breaded, probably half of the diced chicken was dried out and stringy. The sauce was almost non existant the chicken was slightly red but not coated and had no vegetables at all. I know different places do things differently but I always get General Tso's chicken and 99.9% of the time its breaded and the sauce is usually a shiny glaze that coats the chicken and has some vegetables. I gave a 2 because the food was edible but I won't be back to...
Read moreI am so irritated. My boyfriend and i come here all the time and it’s usually fine for a mediocre chinese place. This time i called to place a takeout order and ordered egg drop soup and an order of the Crab Rangoons/Wontons. When i picked it up and opened it up at my boyfriends house i was surprised to see he gave me Wonton Soup instead of the Crab Rangoons I asked for. I politely called and asked for the Wonton appetizer i didn’t get and they said they would remake it for me. Then when I went to pick it up, he handed me ANOTHER order of Wonton soup. I tried explaining that this was not at all what i ordered the first or second time but there was no way to get through to him. I would not recommend ordering here ever because you will not get what you asked for and will...
