Las Rocas postres Y taqueria — Restaurant in Grand Rapids

Unfortunately, this was the worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten in GR. Went here last night for birria and it was not good. The consome tasted like beef broth with no extra spices or seasonings, the cheese tasted very strange and didn’t taste like a traditional Mexican cheese (chihuahua, Oaxaca, etc) but instead tasted like cheap mozzarella sticks with no cheese pull, and the actual birria was somehow dry and kept sticking in my teeth like beef jerky (the birria, which I barely got any of in my tacos, also had little to no flavor which was shocking since I’ve been to ‘gringo’ taco places that have used more spices than this place). The birria trio was also $18 which I didn’t feel was worth it since most places have it for around $15. I wanted to like this place so badly because I hadn’t been here since pre-Covid but it seems to be just another restaurant whose quality went down by 70% and the prices have gone up another 30%. So sad to see this place go downhill so badly but I knew I should’ve trusted the bad reviews. I won’t be returning and will be telling fellow friends to avoid this spot and get more authentic tacos elsewhere (which there seems to be plenty on division so don’t even waste your time here and drive about 2-3 mins down for the good stuff) or better yet go to Trader Joe’s for their birria which is miles...

I ordered food without knowing that the items had cheese on them (which I'm severely allergic to) I called them to see if I could get my food remade at which I was told to bring them back. However, when I showed up they refused to help me figure out what to do. Instead I got told that they can't remake the food.Even though they told me they would a minute ago. When I asked for my refund back they simply said that I can't have my money back. I have worked in costumer service for 5+ years and this is the WORSE costumer service I have ever experienced. The manager didn't even try to show their face to resolve the problem. I won't be going back there again. They should be more considerate about people...

The food was bad, the beans were from a can and they were very salty. The burrito we order was nasty because they used the same beans they give us on a plate. The shrimp gorditas were not season well, the corn I had was old and tasted really nasty. They also ask for a tip on your bill when they don't bring you the food, you have to go get your food and then take your own plates to designated area. I won't ever go there Again. The portions also were small for the prices on the food, to expensive.. The people who are giving them 5 starts they probably don't know the difference on the food but that was my worse...
