Today was my second visit to this location. My first impression was a feeling of being let down for the pizza buffet. We showed up halfway through the 11-2pm window. What pizza I did get was good. The cracker crust is worth the try. I found the variety good if it was stocked until the end of the time period. There were six pizzas on the buffet at 1:30pm. 2 were Italian sausage, and the other 4 were cheese pizza that no one wanted to eat. I was looking for at least a piece of pepperoni, and it left me disappointed. The service was fair and fast, and the dining room was clean. Today was my 2nd visit. Going in with a clean slate and high hopes. The wife and I ordered our beverages. She has a Sprite and me with an unsweetened iced tea and lemon. Our drinks arrived, and I squeezed the lemon into my tea. At first, I thought it was just me, but the lemon was old. There wasn't even a citrus taste to it. No big deal, it happens. A few minutes later, we placed our order(3:20pm). We enjoyed the pleasant music in the dining room while we waited and sipped our beverages and chatted. The time passed by, and the server seemed to be a touch out of sorts. We got a refill on our beverages and continued to wait. At this time, it had been an hour. 17 minutes later, the server approached our table to inform us the cook was a little behind and walked away. An elderly couple had been waiting just as long, and nothing was said to them. Any expectations I had at this time were fading quickly. We had ordered 2 Stromboli and a small house pizza. The Stromboli arrived 12 minutes before our pizza that was hastily prepared just by the visual appearance. The food was delivered by 2 different servers, and neither of which was ours. The Stromboli was very good. It could have used a 2.5-ounce cup of sauce to go with it instead of a 1.5-ounce suflay cup. The pizza was not cut all the way through, and the crust was soggy. The pizza crust here is supposed to be thin and crispy from what I've been told from people in the community. Our server brought us a couple of Styrofoam go boxes for our pizza and a half Stromboli. The time on our receipt after paying was 5:23pm. It took approximately 2 hours to get a 14in pizza and 2 stromboli on a slow Sunday afternoon on non peak hours. My expectations were dashed on my second visit, and my hope was crushed at this point. I love the cracker crust, but it is not worth the price for me to try a third time without some kind of guarantee things would be better. Sammy's in its hay day may have been the rave, but it has lost its pep in the step. I hope they find and fix the issues soon, or this place could lose out on a gold mine in the pizza industry in...
Read moreI am new into town from Texas and was taken to dine here on Saturday after the car show and swap meat. My fam really raved about this place and what we experienced was a major fail. Don’t know if there’s a health dept that checks in on restaurants if there is they definitely need to inspect. We were sat in the dining room and all I could notice were all the dirty empty tables with dirty dishes. We even asked the hostess to wipe down our booth as it was dirty with some grime on it which she did. Our waitress Caidee I believe was her name was very nice ( the only positive). We were very appalled by all the flys that were inside the establishment! It was as if we were outside. It didn’t help with all the dirty tables and dirty plates that surrounded us. The food was below average if that. I ordered the “Big Italian” Stromboli. 🙄 “Big” being used very loosely. Let’s just say I have had hot pockets with way more flavor. Salt, pepper, crushed pepper and Parmesan cheese could not help this thing. Even pouring the Marinera sauce on it did not help. Dnt know what the “Big” is for ??? It was small and not worth the $12.95. After we got our food the waitress went M.I.A. Once we had enough which wasn’t long we had to flag down another waitress to please get ours. When she came back she Apologized as she was told to go to break and her table “us” was supposed to be taken over by another waitress. I definitely will not...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but the pizza just wasn't very good, and certainly not even close to the hype of it being a top notch place for pizza. The pizza is as thin and flavorless as eating cardboard. The toppings tasted like cheap canned/processed product (not fresh or high quality like you'd expect from a higher end pizza place). Prices are very high for the limited toppings you get (including limited cheese).
The cheese bread was good, although the red dipping sauce was t our favorite. The pretzel is HUGE and will be a sufficient appetizer for a party of 3-4. It does come massively over-salted.
On delivery, no plates were provided, nor any red pepper flakes, or parmesan cheese.
Two people in our party also reported having very upset stomachs after eating the pizza.
On a positive note, their salad was surprisingly fresh and good. They ironically put more cheese on their Ceasar salad than a good portion of the pizzas provided (the picture of the salad shows only a fraction of the cheese. Most was located under thr lettuce.)
Given the poor value of the price compared with the food, next time we want pizza, we would just order from a much lower...
