Florentine is a classic. The food is decent (entrees) to excellent (cheesecake). The ambiance hasn't changed in over 20 years. My son and I took my parents for their birthdays. We started with the Italian Sampler appetizer, which consisted of fried ravioli, provolone sticks, and boneless wings (a last-minute substitution for mushroom caps, which they were out of). We enjoyed all three. My mom got manicotti with meat sauce, while I had the manicotti with marinara. My dad had the meat lasagna, and my son had the sausage sub. We were all satisfied with our entrees. For dessert, my son and I had cheesecake, mine with raspberry sauce and his with peaches. The slices were huge, homemade, and delicious. Both of us took about half of ours home. My mom got the cannoli (served in a pair). She enjoyed hers as well, and she took one home. Our service was great, but we were there on a slow Wednesday night with only one couple there when we got there. There was a large group that came in about halfway through our meal. It was clear they had a reservation. Overall, Florentine offers consistent American comfort food versions of Italian dishes in a classic retro atmosphere.

Cool little joint just off the 196 freeway, we're new to GR so we're trying some of the so called 'standards' of the area and this gem didn't disappoint. I would suggest you make reservations, at least on the weekend as it got busy quickly around 6pm and it's not that big of a restaurant in the first place. Nice ambience, cozy, low ceilings, full bar. The staff was super nice and friendly too. We had the Fettuccini Alfredo & Chicken Divan. Their unlimited garlic bread was good, nice crust on the outside and soft on the inside. The only complaint I'd have, and it's not a big one, but their dinner salads leave a lot to be desired. You get iceberg lettuce, some shredded carrot and 1 cherry tomato - exactly 1 tomato. It looks like they used to have a salad bar, looked to be covered up with white cloths. If they bring that back, I'd give it a solid 5 stars, but for now, a pretty solid 4.

Had a fabulous dinner here tonight! Their staff is so warm and friendly, needless to say their service is SUPERB. They made us feel so welcomed! The food was delicious, just check out the generous topping on my husband's pizza and my Greek Salad was GIGANTIC. They have terrific gluten free options that you rarely see at an Italian/Pizza place. I had the gluten free chicken strips which I didn't take a photo of because I gobbled them up too quickly 😅 Everything was terrific and next time I'm for sure ordering their cauliflower crust pizza...just the look of their homemade sauce made me salivate. We're definitely going back, dare I say, become "regulars"!

Suprisingly awful. Like I’m still kind of mind blown how bad this experience was. Ordered 2 Italian subs for takeout, one of them add onions and mayonnaise with fries and one as it comes with chips as listed on the menu online. When we came to pick it up, we noticed the prices posted in the restaurant were more expensive than the prices on their website. When the brought the order we noticed they didn’t include the chips with our sandwich and when we asked, we were told that the chips are only included if you ask for them. Ended up close to $40 for some cold shredded cheese, soggy unseasoned crinkle fries, basic lunchmeat and overall a sloppy mess. One of the sandwiches came with cherry tomatoes on it which we didn’t order. When we called to ask for our money back, the lady said ‘just so you know, your ticket said add onions and tomatoes but whatever’, in a condescending tone as if she had caught on to our mischievous plot of scamming her food counter for a free meal.

First of all I’m not a chump who complains for free food, nor am I the type to complain at all. I’ve managed restaurants for years and am well aware that people call and complain in an attempt to get free food. Its actually ridiculous for a manager to have a bruised ego over a sandwich that was poorly and incorrectly made responding with such an attitude rather than own the mistake is indicative of someone who won’t last long in her position. Also very thankful I’m not the person in my family with a food allergy.

Second of all, annoying that I have to ask to make sure my side item is included. Restaurants I’ve worked in in the past say things like this to cheat the customer and save on food cost in hopes that the customer won’t notice something smaller like a bag of chips or a side of sauce.

Third of all, and probably most importantly, we as customers are tired of seeing prices go up and quality of food and service go through the floor. Tired of sloppy bland over priced food. Tired of prices not being accurately communicated until you’re at the point of sale. We love supporting local any chance we can but we truthfully wouldn’t eat here again if we...

I used to love this place. I grew up one town over and spent a couple of years after high school working two buildings up 28th st in what is now Fish Window Cleaning. Back then, it was a restaurantand after we closed down for the night, we'd often head over to Florentine for drinks. I was particularly fond of their linguine with clam sauce, which is sadly no longer on the menu. I chose instead, their eggplant Parmigian only to be told several minutes later that they had run out of the ingredients to make it. My 3rd choice was a pasta combo plate consisting of lasagna, spaghetti, and fetucini alfredo. After a none too short wait, my food arrived, and I was immediately stricken by the miniscule portions. I wouldn't even classify them as lunch sized. The lasgna was maybe 2-1/2" maybe 3" square, and neither of the other two offerings could fill up a finger bowl. I'll give credit for them being tasty, but there wasn't nearly enough. Even with a side salad, I ended up having to place an order for some garlic bread just so I wouldn't be leaving the place in a state of H'anger. Additionally, my service was rather lackluster, He seemed slow and not very knowledgeable about the menu offerings, but I suspect he was new, so I'll cut him some slack. All in all, I was pretty disappointed that an old favorite like Florentine's had degenerated so badly. I actually wish I hadn't gone in and seen their...

My friends and I had a horrible experience with this restaurant. We all went there to play Team Bingo. It started from the minute she came to take our drink orders. She was very short and gruff with us. She brought our drinks and left.

After 25 minutes of waiting she came back to take our food orders. Myself and one other (out of four) ordered right away. The other two in the party were waiting to figure out what they wanted to order. When they responded to her "and what will you guys have?" with "nothing for us right now" she threw her notepad on the table and said "well you have to order something or you can't stay" in a rude tone.

One of the party members said "it's free to play isn't it?" and she responded "you've got to order something..."Two people had already ordered dishes. And other two were going to order when they decided what they wanted but she didn't like that.

We ended up saying "I guess we'll leave then." We gathered our coats, turned in our Team Trivia Bingo materials and left.

Worst experience I have had. It doesn't help that this waitress has been rude and short with us every time we have gone to this restaurant. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to service, I've worked in the food industry, but this was uncalled for and left a bad taste in our mouth.

We won't be coming back and will make sure that anyone that asks us about this restaurant knows about our...
