From start to finish, this restaurant was a disaster. The air conditioning was on so high, people were actually standing outside to warm up. It took 10 minutes to get someone's attention so we could be seated since the concept of a hostess seems to have escaped this restaurant. It was another 10 minutes before we saw our waitress for the first time. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night so we expected some wait, but they were pushing it. We ordered appetizers, garlic bread, which came out in a timely manner but were a bit unappetizing with the LARGE chunks of RAW garlic swimming in the oily mess they had slathered all over the bread. Next came the soup, baked potato, which looked and smelled wonderful right up until my husband ate a spoonful with an unusual garnish - long bits of STEEL WOOL. At this point, I go hunting for the manager. She's suitably shocked and comes over to speak with my husband. After offering the completely ridiculous excuse of the dishwashers using the wrong scrubbers to wash the giant soup pots (when your customers are eating bits of steel scrubbers for their dinner, you don't offer excuses, you just fix it), she offers to comp my husbands meal. Ok, cool. Then dinner arrived. Two of us ordered the chicken alfredo which on the menu sounded fabulous. The "marinated" chicken wasn't marinated at all, but completely bland, no seasoning whatsoever. It was however nicely grilled, tender and moist. The homemade, fresh pasta that we were so looking forward to was completely GROSS. Too thick, inconsistent, poorly cut and tasted of nothing but flour. Oh, and it was COLD. Which brings me to the alfredo sauce...bland, thick, gelatinous and beginning to separate. But hey, at least it was hot. The other dishes ordered at our table were well received, the ribs and the chicken and steak saluto. Those who got salad liked the dressing and we all enjoyed the rolls. Our server was WONDERFUL. She helped make a disaster of an evening a bit more palatable. She even went so far as to tell the manager that our pasta dishes should be comped as well because the pasta was so awful. We didn't even ask for that, so we thought that was something. So yeah, we didn't pay for any of the terrible food they served, but that doesn't change the fact that overall, this restaurant left much to be desired and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who actually wants to both enjoy and keep down their food (yeah, people were sick afterwards, no joke). Oh, on a final note...when we left, there were several people waiting to be seated in the foyer and no hostess (who was also the manager!) in sight, again. We found her though, hanging around in the parking lot out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has the best pizzas. We love the Alpine one and always get it when we visit. Their meat lovers is also a must. (See picture for both pizzas). They come loaded with toppings and cheese. Did i mention the alpine is delicious? Alfredo sauce with cheese, shrimp, and crab. Some spinach too i think. Just delicious. They also have a salad if you're watching your waistband. The dressing is really good and the salad is fresh. Chicken is alright. Not the best and a bit dry but I still enjoyed it. They serve an Italian beef loaded with meat and cheese that is also a must try. It can be a bit salty for some people but for me it was perfect. Their calimari and appetizers are good. Sometimes a bit bland but the place is still good. Desserts are always on point. The service is also great. I read other reviews and would assume some items are not a hit but the items i mentioned so far we have tried and liked. Our server was very attentive and kind. The only downside is the wait time. We waited around 45 minutes to an hour for our food and the place had just opened. I suppose they were getting the kitchen ready and making things fresh. We didn't mind much because we were talking amongst ourselves but if you were in a hurry then this would he a downside. Overall, a very good place to eat on the weekend. The restaurant itself is clean. The lighting is dim. It did fill up pretty quick after it opened. One thing that surprised me was their water. I asked for a glass and it tasted good. I'm usually scared to order water from restaurants because it taste like tap and unfiltered. Just not good. But their water tasted like fresh water. So they must have a good filtration system or something...
Ā Ā Ā Read morehave been here a few times before but after my last visit, I will never return. There was a group of 7 of us eating for dinner. Our waitress was very nice but very slow. We sat for about 45 minutes before she took our orders. Three of us had ordered our pasta with garlic and olive oil sauce. When we got our food and tried it, it tasted like they forgot to put on any sauce at all. Unfortunately our waitress never came to check on us. In the 20 minutes of waiting for her return, something worse happened. One of my friends took a bite of her Rotolo and bit into what looked like pieces of wood in her dish. She went to the bathroom to rinse her mouth and spit out a napkin full of pieces of wood from her food! We sat, still waiting for someone to check on us until finally we had enough and had to seek out the manager on our own.
The manager did not offer any sort of explanation as to why there was wood in the dish, but apologized and brought a new dish of Rototo. He also offered to bring out more garlic and olive oil for those of us who had the plain pasta, but at that point the pasta we had was now cold, so it didn't do any good.
When the bill came, I was shocked to see that we were charged for everything (the plain pasta and the Rotolo). We were not offered any sort of compensation for our troubles (we were there for over 2 hours) or for the fact that his kitchen served a meal only fit for a woodchuck.
They clearly do not care for their customers and their food is extremely overpriced for it's sub-par quality. I would never recommend this place, and am severely disappointed in our...
