I am VERY disappointed in this retailer. A few months ago, I reported metal tacks contaminating a pastry that my legally blind mother almost ate. The corporate office forwarded the complaint to the manufacturer, who did an investigation concluding that the contamination was not from their facility. I then reached back out to the Aldi for further investigation into the distribution and retail locations. Aldi shut their eyes and washed their hands of the entire situation, refusing to investigate or even speak with us... FYI, Aldi, the metal tacks were put in the product somewhere by someone, and you should take this more seriously and, at a minimum, reimburse us for the product. Read moreI was shopping at Gurnee Aldis yesterday. I was at self check out. Needed clerks approval, John who was working register said he would be right with me. He had along line of customers and couldn't make it over to me. I gathered my items and moved to his register. I asked him if anyone else could help me and he replied that he was the only employee in the store. Now I was stuck waiting in line again. I can't understand why management had John working alone in the busy store! John was polite and doing his best. Shame on management. The manager should have been there helping. They forgot to get my item once, another time they didnt look very hard and said they couldn’t find my item and then when I asked they say oh they found it now (for something as simple as Parmesan cheese), then they substituted my fat free yogurt for full fat yogurt (??? Not the same thing????) and when I did NOT approve of it they still swapped it? And it cost more so wtf. I messaged the shopper several times and they didn’t answer.
