Wish I could leave a better review to be honest but… I came in there tonight to pick up my Togo order which mind you was their $31 NY Strip steak with broccoli and mashed and a southwest chicken salad with no tomatoes and with, fried chicken on it! (The salad was for my wife). Sounds good right? (Ya I should have checked the order but I didn’t shame on me!!) I sure was hoping to get to eat it but not only did they load it up with tomatoes but the cook burned the life out of the chicken!! Yup heart breaking because my wife wasn’t happy at all!! Being that I live around the corner I called and explained the problem and brought the salad back for a remake! The waitresses were friendly said they were remaking the salad… I waited about 10-15 mins for the remake that had even darker chicken than the first time! They got the manager and as he tried to tell me they cooled it in freshly changed grease, I calmly explained my cooking background of 30 yrs.. and that if that was cooked in fresh grease then let’s try grilled chicken instead! (Mind you I still haven’t gotten to touch my $30 steak yet!) so I wait another 15 or so mins they bring me another salad finally made the right way with grilled chicken! The manager came out once more trying to explain how they have logs and constantly check the fryers every hour and asks me “what would you like me to have done about this?” And honestly I thought I heard him say he was gonna comp the bill which I never asked for but was very appreciative of, but he disappeared!? Also by this time I had been there 25-40 mins I’ve been there waiting on my wife’s food to finally be made correctly!! The manager never came back they handed me my food and sent me on my way…! I am a bit aggravated with the whole situation because I paid $54-$55 plus tip mind you for my wife to get her food and mine to waste and be thrown away! After a visit like this unfortunately it might be a while if I decide to...
Read moreThis brewery recently opened (3 weeks ago) in the former space of Granite Falls Brewery, and they haven't yet received permits to brew they're own beer--though that's coming. Still, they have taps with local beers (Curus, Olde Hickory, French Broad, and others), in addition to domestics. They have an impressive cocktail list with seasonal offerings, as well as wine options.
The food menu has a wide variety, from wings and burgers to pasta and steaks.
We tried the beer cheese fries, which were hot and crispy and coated in delicious seasoned beer cheese, covered generously with large bacon pieces and sliced green onions. This came with a side of thick, tangy ranch for dipping. Next, we shared a 1/3rd-pound American burger (they have different styles to choose from) which was served on a butter-grilled bun. Since we'd had fries already, we swapped thise for pub chips, which were warm and crisp. Delicious!
I enjoyed a Blushing Berry Margarita--a strawberry margarita (Jose Cuervo Especial Silver), rimmed in dark chocolate sauce. Soooooo good! Hubs tried samples of a few beers and enjoyed a couple he'd never tried.
Our service was spectacular!
This venue has plenty of dine-in seating, though we enjoyed bar seating, where we watched basketball on the three large-screen TVs.
The walls themselves are a work of art, painted with scenes of mountains, campfires, and their former music venue in Round Hill, VA.
They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. We were there on a Sunday, and Appalachian music played on their sound system, setting a festive mood.
We highly recommend this place, and though it was our first visit, we're looking forward to going back soon and...
Read moreI had the great pleasure of visiting B Chord last Saturday (8/9/25). This restaurant/music venue is clearly a labor of love - it shows in everything from the delightful mural depicting a variety of bluegrass artists, the outstanding music, and the food! The food was delicious. In my experience, you can either have great food or great music. Not at B Chord! I was nibbling from the large-helping appetizers my table ordered before I arrived (late as usual). Anytime you can eat cold chicken tenders, beer cheese fries, etc., and marvel at how extremely yummy they are, you know you've found a winner and will want to return again and again. It is clear they pay attention to quality ingredients and that whoever does the recipes/cooking knows what they're doing. Since we came for the music, that was our priority and we were treated to a delightful mix of country, bluegrass, original tunes and even a bit of Grateful Dead. I expect the quality of artists is consistently high if our experience is any indicator. We stayed through the two sets, and I may have growled at the kind waiter seeking to clear the table of the remaining tenders and fries. Also of note - the beer is locally sourced and the selection is amazing! I just told the bartender I usually drink Stella and he directed me to a delightful locally produced beer on tap. If you're local (as in less than 1.5 hrs away), stop by for the food and stay for the music. And if you're not, check out the calendar and take a road trip this fall. I know I'll be back! Thank you, B Chord, for a perfect...
