This place is short and sweet, quick and easy, fast service, and awesome staff. If you don’t get a seat fast it will fill up quickly. It’s kinda tight but city bbq is great food for a single guy or gal or a family squeezing in for a good meal. The cooks are great, they might not have the ability to sling a shrimp into a hat with a spatula, but they are clean cut and can rock and roll any food on the menu. Their music in the background makes them authentic and a style of a home body restaurant for good home school cooking. People are called by name and welcome. This restaurant/nook Made me feel like family. I Loved it… thank you city barbecue the cooks and staff for the wonderful breakfast I found my morning breakfast. At City BBQ . Also, tip well , people deserve appreciation for good food, I wish the cooks had a tip jar so they could get tipped. Cooks are more than overlooked when the food is served. Especially if you have ever worked making pizza, Or delivered food. Not everyone has it easy in the food industry . Sometimes giving good tips helps the attitude sometimes it doesn’t, but here at city barbecue it doesn’t matter they all have smiles on...

I gave this place one star because the food was good that's what the one star was for. Now if you care about cleanliness don't even walk in the door I ate here three or four years ago and I don't think the place has been clean since then you can look around and see the funk of forty thousand years just hanging from the ceiling fans the fire extinguishers wherever you look you can see dirt and dust from years ago just hanging on everything it's ridiculous.you are a food establishment you are supposed to be clean and how you have not been closed down I don't understand. You obviously have a friend at the health inspection office because there's no way you could pass health inspection. Had I noticed all this before I sat down and got my food I would have not been eating there but I didn't look around until it was too late and the food was good but I will not be eating...

I grew up in Granite Falls...so I have had countless meals at the City BBQ. I dont live there now...but fortunately I still have family and friends here to visit. Plus my work travels bring me back home from time to time. When possible...I always stop by the City BBQ when I am in the area. The menu has changed over the years....and there are many wonderful meals to be had. But they also have maintained many of the classics from back in the day. The roast pork sandwich and pimento burger are still my all time favorites. The photo is of a pimento burger fresh off the grill....which I think is the same grill from way back when. I snapped a photo of the grill...and yes it looks old...but it produces some darn good country food!! If you are traveling through Caldwell County...you should include a stop at...

This is my favorite place to get a Carolina style burger. I don’t drive by this place as much as I did previously. It’s probably a good thing. When I drive by, I’m compelled to get a burger all-the-way. It is the best. Today, I called to try and place my order ahead of time. They were busy and the phone just kept ringing. Disappointed would be an understatement, while I thought that they were closed. Thankfully, they were open when I drove to them. What an amazing place! If you’re driving near there, it’s in your best interest to get some food there.

For a name like City BBQ one would expect BBQ would be easy to find on the menu but it wasn't and for a good reason, it was not very good at all. I would say the sauce was good but the bottle was impossible to sauce out of. Our expectations of finding a local gem of a restaurant would be better than a chain, in the case it was not. The issue was the pork was not available but my wife's pork sandwich was not heated fully. My shopped plate was not chopped but pulled and not fully heated. The onion rings where fried in oil used for fish.
