Captain's Galley Seafood — Restaurant in Granite Falls

I have eaten at 3 Captain's Galley Seafood Restaurants, and all 3 have been good. The Captain's Galley at Granite Falls, NC was exceptional. Savannah, the hostess, escorted us to the table quickly and was very polite, friendly, and respectful. Our waitress took our order very quickly, and it arrived at our table after about 10 to 12 minutes. We ordered seafood platters consisting of flounder fillet(2pieces), fried clam strips, lots of popcorn shrimp, crab cake, and deviled clam. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Each plate was piled high with seafood. The hushpuppies were crusty on the outside and soft and tender internally. I think the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce were homemade. Anyway, they were delicious. Both the sweetened and unsweetened tea were excellent. They tasted like tea tasted when I was a boy. The bake potatoes were fresh and had not been sitting out all day like they are in some restaurants. Our waitress was very quick and checked with us several times to see if we needed anything. The atmosphere in this restaurant was very calming and pleasant. The restaurant was very clean, and tables were sanitized very well after people left. Tonight I placed a family order of Alaskan white fish with the sides. When I got home and we sat down to eat I took my 1st bite of slaw. To my horror there was a huge nasty black hair in the slaw!! I called to speak to a manager who not only was rude but tried to make it out as if it was no big deal. She did offer to give me a free individual cup of slaw next time I was there. I asked her who her manager was and she said George. I asked to speak to George who refused to take my call. They did not want to deal with the problem at hand. SANITATION is a HUGE DEAL to me. As I spoke to this un-named voice on the phone she seemed aggravated that I had taken the time to care for my family's health on the matter. Her excuse was "the guy that makes the slaw has hairy arms and one of his arm hairs just got in the slaw is all" I was not only appalled by her shrug off of my health concerns but also that it seemed like it was no big deal to her and that this possibly happens a LOT. After a lengthy phone call and blatant disregard for my concerns the manager "George" apparently told this other "manager" to just give me a free meal to shut me up. Im EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this company. This is not how issues should be handled. I will not be eating...

We have ordered from here for years. Tonight's experience left a lot to be desired. I understand that there are new people, and it takes time to learn the processes, but they should know the basics before letting them work with the food. When trying to tell them the order, there seemed to be lots of confusion for 3 salads and a chicken tender plate - but they did get it written correctly. When we went to pick it up, I noticed there were only 2 containers of salad dressing for 3 salads...it used to be 2 containers for each. After mentioning it, the staff was very accommodating and gave us 4 more. I'm thankful for the extra, because when getting the food home, the Caesar Salad had only lettuce and chicken; no dressing, no croutons, and no cheese!
