Hong Kong Kitchen — Restaurant in Granite Falls

Hello everyone. Asian person here.

I was hoping to get a quick asian food fix for the evening and had an awful experience here.

Check out my reviews. I usually do not give one star reviews unless an establishment was absolutely terrible, ESPECIALLY for small local businesses, but this was one of them.

-Didn’t get to try out the food because of the rude customer service I personally received from the lady that worked here. -Asked nicely what their small and large portions looked like. -Was rudely interrupted and rushed. -That was enough for me to conclude that their food was probably not worth it anyways. So I just said “Okay, thank you for your time” and walked out.

I could understand if the restaurant was busy but this was 8PM and I was the only person there so she had no reason to be rude. I can’t begin to imagine all the other customers the worker has...

This is my first review that I’ve ever had to write about bad service but it is purely to warn people about just how bad the food truly was. I was really in the mood for a good beef lo mein and local Chinese food and this was the first time that we decided to try this place. We ordered beef lo mein, shrimp lo mein, crab Rangoon, honey chicken, and a side of fried rice. The smell of the food when we received it already told me something was going to be off. When tasting it the best way I could describe it is freezer burn, chemical like taste and a hint of cigarette. It quite literally made me sick from one bite. After spending well over $50 and being extremely disappointed we won’t be going back. I feel bad because it’s a sweet old couple but something really needs to be done...

If I could give 0 stars, I definitely would. I ordered the cashew chicken for take out. 10 minutes later I try to eat it. THAT WAS NOT CHICKEN. Chicken should not have the texture of jello and taste like it's rotten. I tried more than one piece just to make sure it wasn't just one. Then I had 2 other people try it to make sure it wasn't just me. Same result: digusted and spitting it out. The rice tasted terrible. Ended up being sick a couple hours later. My MIL ordered the beef fried rice and she said hers tasted old and the flavor was off, just couldn't pinpoint what it was. I had never ate here before and wanted to try a new place.
