El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Granite Shoals

Visited this Restaurant on April 7th, 2018 I visited many Mexican restaurants and by far this place had the worst service I have ever received. A young lady in the red shirt with black curly hair attended me and took my order. Now I took the menu and since everyone was already ordering I didn’t have time to view the menu and so I kindly asked her what they had for grilled chicken plates and she told me what came with it, and I ordered it. Now here comes the problem...the order came out and I was wondering were the beans were (and granted most Mexican restaurants serve their plates with REFRIED beans, not Charro beans!) so when I saw the charro beans I didn’t want them, so I asked the waitress kindly to switch them with refried beans. She went and get them and switched them out and RUDELY said “Well the menu said it comes with charro beans” and mumbled something rude under her breath.... uh okay??? So I confronted the business owner and it wasn’t any better. She was DEFENDING the incident like if it was OKAY for her to be rude to her customers...and I understand the waitress was her daughter...but as a business owner you absolutely CANNOT allow your waitress to act up...her excuse was that she was also attending other people, and I understand that! But that is NO EXCUSE to give bad service. I have been to restaurants where there are waiters and waitress who keep their professionalism and they’re super PACKED! This restaurant is great but they need MAJOR help in their customer service...this is coming from an upcoming business owner myself. I hope they read this review and learn from...

I have been to this place numerous times but the last few times it has progressively gotten worse. We wont be returning. We walked in and it was probably 90 degrees inside. (It was like this last time as well and I assumed maybe the ac was down, but maybe they just keep it that how now, idk) our feet were sticking to the floor. Sat down at the table the table was gross. Waitress comes up and just stares at us. I assumed she wanted our drink order but she never said anything. I started with water with lemon, the kids ordered and then my son asked for a diet coke. She jsutvstared at him blankly. He said do you have diet coke? She just stared. So, now we realize she doesnt speak any English. So we wait while she flags down another waitress who speaks English to order the diet coke. The drinks come back, she gave me a lemonade im again assuming because she didnt understand English she thought I meant lemonade. The sodas tasted like carbonated water. We order our food they brought out 2 plates then about 5 minutes later one more plate and then 5 minutes later the last plate. No silverware. Drinks were never refilled. When we left they also charged a fee to use a debit card. Which im pretty sure you aren't allowed to do. They told me my total but then charged a different amount due to a fee. I just wont be going back. For...

Wonderful local Family owned, Mexican restaurant/cafe.. You'll Love the Large portions, Affordable Versatile menu, Tasty food and Polite Friendly Service..

Breakfast menu is Eggs anyway you like them, Omelets, lots of Plated combo's and waffles or pancakes.. Coffee, juices, milk ect.. a word here..if you order Sausage with your meal..it's not the Patty kind..its the Big link on the grill kind But Bacon is bacon, Chorizo is the Mexican style breakfast sausage..

The Lunch/Dinner menu is mostly Authentic style combo's, balanced with a few hamburgers, chicken fried steaks ect..ect..in a Rustic local setting, in all it makes this restaurant a local area...
