I used to run a high-end Japanese restaurant and currently a travel physician from NYC and also a restaurant owner in Atlanta, GA; see my restaurant ServSafe Certification which has my name and M.D. For the past 3 year when I fly to Grants for work, I would dine here when I am craving for Chinese food.

From outside, the look can be deceiving but the food is delicious and fresh if you are craving for Chinese food when you are staying at nearby hotels. Even though it may be only a 1-2 stars comparing to restaurants in major city NYC, etc; it certainly deserves 5/5 stars in Grants and I can attest that its the best Chinese restaurant in Grants or within 45 mile radius. Simply put, the only Chinese restaurant in Grants you will see Asian customers.

This is a family-owned restaurant (father/mother and their 2 kids) and they make sure their food is constantly fresh around the clock. They don't have a lot of selection (15 Chinese dishes + 10 American food) but they certainly do master their dishes well which you can tell by the pictures I have taken. Their sit-in buffet is about $10/person (?) and if you prefer to take out, the price was lower even when I stuffed the to-go container. Besides buffet, they also have the typical traditional Chinese menu that you can order dishes off that are not displayed on the buffet line.

If you are a local and need to throw a party, they can accommodate that as well. I have several times ordered significant amount of Lo Mein and fed the entire hospital staffs at a nearby small hospital and everyone loved it. They also have Thai bubble/bubba tea on the weekend and it’s first come first serve.

PRO: Their hot and sour soup is spot on Fresh Friendly Low Price Best Chinese food in 45 miles radius Clean, even the restroom too! 6 different flavors of ice cream Hard working family constantly bring out fresh dishes around the clock More Chinese dishes you can order on menu Their kitchen is clean, trust me on this

CON: Few selections on buffet compare to major cities; but its understandable given...

This buffet is SUPER! We always try to stop in for a meal when we are in Grant's.

There are a wide variety of items which seem to change and evolve with the seasons. Most recently a limited sushi bar has appeared, nothing fancy but a nice selection of basic items.

The staff is quick to take away the used plates from your table but they ask once and don't keep pushing drink refills, which is nice. I can ask if I need a refill.

Note bene: they run a nice tight buffet with not a lot of each item out at once, to keep the offerings at a proper temperature, so for best selection go for lunch when they open at 11 am, or for dinner during the 4-6 pm window when most of the locals eat their main meals.

The orange chicken is a little on the spicy side, a little like a moderate General Tso's. I was pleasantly surprised as most other buffets trend toward the bland.

I can't say enough good about the classy folks who run this neat little buffet way out in a small New Mexico town where I had low expectations which were thankfully blown out...

Our first time stopping by this place. A delightful surprise! The buffet I wasn't sure about so I tried a little of everything. Sat down with my mom and we started eating. The flavors, I actually tasted the difference between each type: ginger chicken, orange chicken, teriyaki, beef and broccoli, spicy shrimp, egg drop soup, sesame bean paste pastry, steamed dumplings, Mongolian beef...unlike the golden restaurant in Gallup where all the meat items are heavily fried in batter they taste all the same and too oily and salty. This super buffet in Grants is a wonderful change for my palate. I can see the meat and taste the different flavors in each. I like that. I have to commend the spicy shrimp, that was a satisfying surprise! Also I really appreciate that they serve steamed dumplings here, my favorite. I definitely will be eating here again if we happen to be passing through. I highly recommend a stop here. It might not look like much at first, but the meals are...

We did not eat off the buffet @ ordered off the menu. The Shrimp in lobster sauce was delicious ! Human beef was also amazing with plenty of mushrooms, baby corn and mushrooms. Hot & sour soup was amazing & egg rolls both came with our meal. It was $23 and we had so much food that we packed up 2 to go boxes and have dinner for tomorrow. Will definitely come back. The people who worked there were very attentive and kind. They made sure we had anything we needed.

The facade of the place sends mixed signals, however inside you get a very wide selection of very good and diverse foods, its calm and quiet inside, the food is always fresh and hot, there are fresh fruits and vegetables, various greens, grilled, fried, boiled meats, soup, noodles, and also icecream. If i ever find myself in this part of i40 again, i will wait until i reach Asian Super Buffet to satisfy my hunger.

The Asian Super Buffet is truly one of the asian buffet gems along I-40. Family-owned and delicious food, especially for the price. I believe the buffet costs $8.99, so there is some value to stopping for a bite here. Every time I visit ABQ from Denver, I make it a point to drive out to their location in Grants to eat. Check out the food coma from my son in the attached pics. :-)
