I typically don't write reviews on specific fast food locations, since you can't please everybody, let alone the same way every day. However, as I have been coming here every now and then over the last couple of years, I feel something needs to be said about this McDonald's, since it has gone downhill so much over that time.
The food for me is usually average to above average. Typically, my orders are hot and ready, with the occasional lukewarm fry, but I never think it's bad; just what I'd expect from McD's. It's always the inconsistent service or inconvenience that rubs me the wrong way with this location. Sometimes ordering through the drive-thru takes 10-15m longer than it should, even when there's no one in front of me. A few weeks back I waited roughly 20m for a chicken sandwich and fries. I could understand 5m given this was within an hour of closing, and they're probably preparing to clean/shut down stuff, but I had to wonder what was being done in that 20m timeframe I waited (and yes, I was asked to pull forward, as seems to be the case with many people).
Drive-thru is why I almost always dine-in instead, and frankly, it isn't much better. Literally nobody is ever at the counter to take orders or fetch drink cups/extras, because they are either preoccupied with the drive-thru, or rely on people placing orders with the kiosks. You're basically just standing there awkwardly the whole time until someone decides to finally notice that you need something. Of course, I understand drive-thru has a lot of traffic, so it's understandable to a degree that they need to stay on top of that, but at least have one or two people keep an eye out for someone waiting on a drink cup, and not the employees who just give you a dirty look or those who couldn't be bothered. Just some level of acknowledgement would go a long way. No one should have to wait 3m for someone to fetch me my drink when most places just hand you your cup as soon as you pay for your order. Same goes for something as arbitrary as napkins or ketchup/mustard packets; you sometimes have to go back to the counter after your food is brought to you because they forgot napkins or the sauces. This wouldn't be a problem if the respective dispensers were still by the drink fountains. Why were they even taken away to begin with exactly? Just needless inconvenience once again.
It's a shame this McD's has gotten worse over the last couple of years, it used to be a really good location for my family to dine-in at, or for me to grab food before work. But with how shoddy service can be, on top of the fact they've now started charging for dipping sauces when they hadn't been for the longest time, I'll probably take my business elsewhere going forward. Not exactly ideal since it's either this, Subway, or Bojangles' for fast food. At least Bo's has gotten better over the...
Read moreOrdered 2 fish sandwich filets. One had a half of a piece of cheese barley on the filet. I would have taken a picture of this as well had I known that the next would be just as bad. See the attached image to let you all know that Mc Donald’s is now providing a half slice of cheese on their fish filet sandwich. I normally don’t have an issue with this but now that they are charging about $3 for a SMALL French fry! This is outrageous! I can go to Panera Bread and get a healthier meal for nearly the same price! I think, I will start going there, since why pay $9 for a meal when I can pay $10 for a healthier choice and MUCH better from the taste side. What happened? I think that McDonald’s has sold out and is now looking at the dollar number than they are considering the main idea and that is to provide a meal at a low cost to the customer. The prices now, are at the same as the higher restaurants, but the quality of the food provided doesn’t match the dollar amount that you are spending. Take a check on this and go to Panera and spend $12 and then do the same at Mc Donald’s. I think we all know the result, but why haven’t the higher ups at Mc Donald’s figured this out? I can tell you in one word, PROFITs. Mc Donald’s is the last place I will be visiting after my current experience. Why would you only put a half slice of cheese on ANY sandwich? Only those that are focused on the dollar and not on the customer! Shame on you Mc Donalds! You lost...
Read more3/30/25. Went through the drive thru. Was handed a watery tea, explained & asked for a coke instead with much attitude girl at pick up window 1 she handed me a coke sideways watered down but it ended up being a watered down dr pepper. She said i can't take the tea back through the window. Then she handed me a bag of food.I grabbed some fries out the bag still waiting for my other drink. I said oh no I got the wrong food. She said to someone (yelling with head action)she's eating out of the bag. I said i shouldn't have to ensure YOU gave me the wrong order. She asked for the bag of food back. BUT couldn't take the tea back? Really? It's the point of it. The manager with pink shirt on (jasmine)took the bag back through the window.I told her she needs to tell the girl not to yell at me again she keep saying have a good day. I absolutely despise going to McDonald's in pamlico county. Everytime the food is never hot.Drinks are watery or it needs to be changed. Orders are never right. You go through the drive through & your made to park & wait a ridiculous amount of time. I'm calling Purcell foods with Ms arrogant name & my experience. Please don't go to pamlico county McDonald's for anything I pray they close asap. I'll call the health department tomorrow also to let them know about the food temps...
