I have been here a few times already. I did not want to make a post until I experienced all 4 time slots. I am going to list the positives followed by the negatives and will give my final opinion.

Breakfast. I haven’t found a better breakfast in Tooele County. Ordered the John Wayne and it was amazing. There French toast was amazing as well with hot syrup to come with the platter.

Lunch. They build a burger is a great idea. The smoked pastrami is heaven. The fish and chips not so much. If you order the dinner plate after 11am. Be prepared to not have a daily vegetable ready to go. This happened on 2 occasions.

Dinner. Here is my take on the dinner. The food was good. Country fried steak was good. The baked potato and side salad were good too.

Now, on one of my trips. I ordered the country fried steak dinner. And got the soup and daily veggie. The daily veggie was not prepared yet. So they gave me a substitute. Warm coleslaw, yuck! Also they soup of the day was chicken and rice. Which I was excited for. Come to find out it was scorched. The cook came to my table and offered me lemon juice to combat the scorched taste of the soup. LEMON JUICE. Are you freaking kidding me. I will say the outpost did make it right by removing it from my order. The second incident happened on a dinner night I ordered the country fried steak. I am a creature of habit. If it is good I will eat the same thing over and over. I waited til later on the day to eat. Just so I could get the full experience. The veggie of the day was Brussels Sprouts. Order was placed and heard nothing until our order was brought to us. No Brussel Sprouts. I asked the waitress why there wasn’t any? She calmly said they ran out. Now, would you think it would have been beneficial to go to the table you are serving to let them know that they were out of the daily vegetable? Well it didn’t happen in this case. There were a few upset people. They even give us an opportunity to ask for a different veggie.

Closing. All in all the food is good. The place is an upscale place where people can enjoy a nice meal together. As for me. The 3 star rating. I will not be coming back to this place. The fact alone that your staff is not transparent with the customers. Drink service is slow. Some food is burnt and your solution is to give them lemon juice. This is my opinion. Go and try the food. I just won’t...

Dropped by for breakfast. Looked very busy and it was 10:00 am. Were greeted by three different people and in our seats in a minute. Very clean and rustic. Nice place. Friendly servers. Fast delivery of the food and drinks. The issues we had were with the food. The country potatoes with veggies were probably very tasty. The vegetables were still raw. The server fixed it quickly with a new batch of potatoes. My hash browns were barely cooked. Just barely browned and barely hot enough. Commented that the short order cook needs to do a stint at the Waffle House! They know hash browns better than anyone. We will return. Many menu items to sample. The service along makes it worth the trip. The eggs were cooked as ordered. The French toast special has more than I could eat and rich with cinnamon. Just wish I could have picked real maple syrup. I can bring my own as long as there is not a...

First time here heard it was good 😮😔 sorry but it wasn't my husband and I both ordered the pork chops and eggs special he ordered his eggs over easy he stressed Over Easy I ordered mine over medium sourdough toast and rye toast let me tell you I was a waitress 39 years if I was waitressing there and that that order came up in the window it wouldn't have even gone out looking like that his over easy eggs were over medium well the hasbrowns were & I know deep fried to a crisp the pork chops looked not even appetizing my eggs were almost hard, I would've normally sent it all back but I didn't want to be embarrassing, the whole plates had a bad smell to them like something was about to turn spoiled, the restaurant was uncomfortable, hot, and was swarming with fly's hard to keep them off our plates and coffee cups, I could finally tell you this, we will not be back, will...

The food was really good. I had chicken fried chicken, the others in my party had a reuben sandwich, and one had what was supposed to be the special of corned beef. Instead it was roast beef. It was so very good! It was serendipitous. The salad was good (we perfer not having do many "fancy lettuce" leaves. Too bitter),the chicken noodle soup was good. We took home a couple pieces of key lime pie... we were stunned to find out that each slice is over $9! That's a crazy high price. I could buy a whole key lime pie for that at the grocery store. It's good though. Plan to share because it's very rich. Almost like sweet key lime butter. For 3 of us to eat it was $85.

Virg's has some major competition when it comes to breakfast. We've gone a handful of times and tried all our usual favorites. Pancakes, waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy and breakfast burrito. All were delicious. The pancakes were sweet cream, the waffle crispy and the burrito full of flavor and texture. The hashbrowns are crispy and homestyle potatoes delicious. The negatives are their lunch and dinner. The burgers, spaghetti, shrimp and Malibu chicken and mashed potatoes were bleh. Chicken fried steak was better than the other dinner items. If you're looking for delicious breakfast try The Outpost.
