I was notify of the graduation promotion of a dozen donuts if you graduate this year. The promotion states as followed: "Come by in your cap & gown, 2023 swag, or with your student ID and pick up a FREE Original Grazed Dozen & Dough-Ploma for Graduating Seniors." This is a yearly promotion that is announce during graduation season. I droved from Fort Worth to Grapevine for the promotion. Once I arrived there was a couple of people in front of me and they only had their gown, no cap. I do not live in the DFW so I do not have my cap or gown; Nevertheless, I have my 2023 tassel and my student ID. Hense, I graduated from College last week. Once I got to the register, they asked me to show my ID, and I proceed to do so. The employee in front of the counter said that I didn't qualify for the promotion because I did not have the cap and gown. I showed my 2023 tassel, and they still turn me down. Afterwards, a group of girls approached the counter and they were not wearing neither their cap nor their gown. They only had college t-shirts and they did received the donuts.
I proceeded to buy the regular dozen of donuts for the following reasons: I did not want the staff to assumed I was trying to trick them by pretending I was graduation just so I can get the donuts. There is no reason for me to do such thing. I did not drive 30 minutes to leave without anything.
The promotions doesn't specified that you need all the items to qualify for the promotion: cap, gown, class of 2023 paraphenilia, or student ID. The promotion implies that you just need "either, or" not "Comma and." In addition, the promotion does not specified whether is high school only or if this applies to college graduates as well. We later called the location and they apologies for the insident and offer that we come back to get the donuts. However, I do not wish to ever buy donuts from this location or Krispy Kreme.
Finally, I do not wish to make any assumptions to explain why this insident occured. Nevertheless, I would say that there was some sort of bias implied towards me that clearly was not applied to the other costumers. After this experience, I wish to not continue as a customer of this establishment for it has let me to believe the company does not look for the best interest of their...
Read moreLove this place. But don’t ever go after 7-8pm because they don’t serve warm glazed donuts. (Go if you like cold donuts-yuck). They seemed to stop the line and start prepping to go home 1-2 hours early.
Wanted a great snack but left with nothing. Cold donuts? No thank you. Poor management and uninterested employees at this location. They really don’t care.
UPDATE: sent this comment on my other account, meant to post here.
I posted a negative review about this location 3 weeks ago and received a boilerplate response “sorry you had a bad experience”, etc. The review was about the bad service and staff. I was asked to contact the company and I sent the same comments. For this I received an email apologizing and with a coupon good for a dozen free glazed donuts. Ok, I get it, it’s the process, and who can pass up free donuts? So I took my coupon this morning to the same location. Big mistake. I arrived at 10:30am, the only one in line, and was ignored by the young lady behind the counter. Although she was busy I had to approach her to get waited on. I asked about the donuts and I got back a “searing attitude” like I had interrupted her work. That was the last straw. I told her I was there to use my free coupon that I had received from my previous visit where staff had acted terribly. I could tell it had an immediate effect because she then changed her attitude. I ordered a few items for my grandson, but nothing for me. After we checked out she tried to explain to me that they were busy, etc. I told her that though I understand her problem, it’s not my problem. The treatment that I received on both visits was unacceptable and I told her I didn’t even want the free coupon and ripped it up so she could see I was serious. This location must have employees that are way overworked or underpaid or both. And i’ll never set foot in this place again. Shame on you management. Shame on the staff who treat customers like they are a bother. No wonder you get awful reviews time and again. Holler at me when you think you’ve solved the staff attitude problem. And keep your free coupons.
And a hint: Dont use the same response to negative comments. Change it up a bit like you do when you respond to positive comments. Try to make it look like you...
