Twisted Chicken — Restaurant in Grayslake

Food 4.5/5. 2 sliders, fried, came with a side of fries. Generous amount. Chicken was crispy and juicy. Overall great order. Would have given a 5 had the chicken been salted a bit more. 1/2lb chunks. Came with bread roll. Chicken was nice and crispy and juicy. But once again had it been seasoned a bit more it would have been a 5. Everything was fresh so you will wait but not much.

Service 5/5 There was one worker when we arrived. She greeted us, took our order and went back to the kitchen to make our order. Gave us our food, asked if we needed ketchup or utensils and asked how are food was halfway through. Interacted with my 3 yr old.

Atmosphere 4/5 It is a smaller setting. 3 squared folding tables with 4 folding chairs each. Not much to the look of the restaurant. Used the restroom. I think it could have been cleaner, walls in particular, and the floor was a bit sticky.

I stopped by to get lunch on Sunday, and both of the owners were extremely nice! I learned a lot about their plans to build up their restaurant in the community while I waited for my food, and I’m very excited to see them grow! I had their 3pc chicken tender twisted special, which came with their hand cut fries and bourbon sauce. Let me tell you, we need more food establishments around here that serve food like they do: food that makes you feel the warmth of a home-cooked meal. The chicken was deliciously spiced and breaded perfectly, and the fries were very crispy for being hand-cut (I can’t stand soggy fries, so this was awesome). Being able to dunk my chicken and fries in their slightly sweet, slightly tangy, bourbon sauce was a great way to even out the flavors on my palette, too! I'll start with the pros. The chicken was juicy and the portion size was relatively big. Thats about it.

I was confused right off the bat since at the time of writing this review, their prices on their menu on google is different from their prices in the restaurant. I was looking forward to their 10 pc tenders for 12.99 but was greeted with 6pcs for 13.99. I get that inflation is hitting everyone but not changing the menu on their google page feels like they were just trying to get me in the door.

Was told it was a 10-15 min wait but it was 20+ mins. Fries were bland and chicken seasoning tasted like fried chicken with store bought taco seasoning. It wasn't bad but not great. I can't see myself choosing this over any other place in Grayslake. I'm taken aback by all the 5 star reviews on here, It makes me wonder if we're talking about...
