The last time we were there, it was empty and we placed a simple to-go order for two people.
We then waited 45 MINUTES.
During that time, at least 15 other people picked up their orders, and four or five tables got sat, and most had already received their food. One couple got sat, ordered, ate, paid, and LEFT in the time that we were still waiting. When I finally got up and asked about our order, the girl said she would go check on it. We could tell that our order was suddenly getting thrown together in a group effort, so it clearly never made it to the kitchen. But instead of checking on it even once that whole time, the girl just kept looking at us sitting there getting more and more annoyed.
When they finally brought our food up, I commented on the extremely long wait to which the older woman became enraged. Instead of apologizing for the mixup and attempting to correct the situation, she instead became very defensive, started waiving her arms around, and loudly proclaimed that everyone else had placed their orders before us. So I asked if that were the case, then WHY weren't we warned before we ordered that it would be a 45-minute wait?? To which she responded "You should have asked!"
To top it all off, when we got back home, everything was a mess, half cold, and was completely wrong. Never again.
I live across the street, and had been coming here since the week Azteca opened. I was even popular here at one point, known as "The Pozole Guy". But ever since the new management took over, the food and service have been declining FAST.
I grew up in the restaurant business. We owned three restaurants in Libertyville and Highwood, two of them Mexican, and I worked all three from start to finish. I learned a LOT over those 8 years. And this is NOT how you run a...
Read moreDo not go here!!!! They overcharge!!! First time coming here. Went here with my family, my 19 month old, my husband's and myself so three people total. Waited about 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive to the table. When they were completely empty and had no other customers. As well as waited for us to place our order. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was only after ordering a water. One fruit punch juaritto 1 small water for our duafhter and one large drink. Only 1 taco dinner that came with sides included and a $5.99 kids meal We went to go pay and the bill was outrageous $40 later even though tacos were $3.50 each They also charged us a$1 for grilled onions and double charged us even though we only got 1 tiny tiny batch of grilled onions and the most tiniest limes ive ever seen werent even full limes or slices. They also charged me for not even half a lime. I never gone to a taco place where they charge you for limes.
You look at the menu so you see all the prices. You know what you're paying and then when time to go pay it's outrageous.
I even asked the lady. Why so pricey for tacos. Tacos are super cheap. Why is it $40? The lady couldn't even answer me. She just looked at us with a blank stare handed us the receipt and said I don't know how to explain but here's the receipt. We will never be coming back here again !!!!We could have paid the same price and gone to Casabonita, for way better food and way better service. At least when we go to Libertyville we always know what...
Read moretldr: great food, terrible customer service.
Ok buckle up. The ride is about to begin...
We ordered through GrubHub and it was a little late, no big deal. Opened the bag and the nachos had beans. GrubHub had only pictures for the food items, and they are tiny. I saw no beans. There are also no descriptions saying they came with beans. I don't do beans, so I drove over to get a new plate.
I explained the situation and the guy at the front counter said that they were really busy, so it would be at least an hour for a replacement order. I requested a refund instead. I was told that he would need to talk to the manager. That apparently took 20 minutes to do, because the next thing I know, I'm being insulted in Spanish to the line crew and the manager. Hablo Español.
Long story short, I shouted to the back in Spanish that all I want is a plate of nachos without beans. I didn't care what meat. The lady cook tossed together a plate of nachos on the fly, but not until after the cashier told me I would have to go home and get the old plate. No. Just no. Eventually the plate was bagged and handed over.
So I got home, and the nachos were GREAT! Spicy cheese, delicious chicken, I enjoyed it a lot! Unfortunately the customer service from the cashier will forever keep me...
