Came here as a one off with friends. And really loved the outside seating and our waitress
However food took about 40 minutes to come (it wasn’t even busy when we first arrived). When the food came the pasta was extremely watery and the garlic on the white pizza was so overpowering I couldn’t taste the pizza at all. And I like garlic! Everything else however was nice!
My friend sent back the pasta and then she ate my garlic pizza instead. So she didn’t ask for anything free to replace her pasta, the waitress just took it away and off the check. I then ordered a new pizza but requested less garlic, explaining it was just too much for me (fully paying for the new and old one)
I was told it was on its way but another 40 minutes later it still hadn’t come. We needed to leave and everyone else had finished eating ages ago. So I went inside to ask politely if I could just cancel it and explained that I wouldn’t have ordered it if I was told it that it would take this long. Lady 1 was extremely rude straight away with a response of “first of all we are busy! It’s been made so you have to pay for it” and then walked off. So I spoke to the manager for further help. Who explained I’d have to pay for the full pizza and just take it away. I then could see Lady 1 pointing aggressively at me whilst talking to that manager in another room (clearly about me) just because I asked to cancel it..
I ignore it and sit down accepting that I’ll pay for the pizza and take it away. However when it finally arrived and the level of garlic was exactly the same and they’d also left off the olives that I asked for.
On top of having to wait that long, have the staff be extremely rude and then not even give me the pizza how I asked. I just wanted to leave the pizza and take it off my check. The manager came over very aggressive, with a horrible attitude, blaming me for not liking the food and saying we are just causing problems. We explained that the rest of the food and service was lovely and we aren’t trying to cause problems or be awkward. I just didn’t get what I asked for. But she remained very rude, and told us she’ll only take it off the check if we never come back. Despite remaining very calm, she remained just as angry. Then took the pizza and walked away, demanding that we treat Jess well (suggesting a good tip)
Our server Jess was extremely helpful and understanding but the rest of the customer service was the worst I’ve ever experienced when being nothing but polite. Absolutely don’t want to ever go back despite not...
Read moreMy husband picked this place in the time old tradition of "we're hungry, oh there's a spot..." I was a little skeptical, particularly after a quick stop in the questionable (but clean) bathroom. However, the food was pretty good, the service was great, and we played a game of pool after dinner. (Turns out my husband's not a bad shot!) The descriptions of "lively haunt" and "rustic joint" are apt, it seems as though 90% of the customers in this converted barn were regulars and the menu is quite "standard American". Note: NOT modern hipster, more small-town-watering-hole. We ordered: Nachos as an appetizer ($12) ~ HUGE, with an appropriate amount of toppings. I love that they add lettuce. A little monterey jack cheese would have been fantastic. Greek pizza ($15) ~ Amazing. If the feta had been a bit stronger and the crust a bit crisper it would be one of the best I've had (I love Greek pizza). The Kalamata olives were great! Chicken ranch wrap ~ Lots of tasty chicken. I prefer more veggies in my wraps but my husband ordered it and was pleased, his only comment was that the ranch was a little runny and caused the wrap to become soggy quickly. Hamburger ~ Fantastic. It was ordered medium but arrived closer to medium rare, I prefer medium rare so it worked in my favour. The biggest disappointment of the entire meal were the fries. They came with the wrap and burger, but both orders were seriously overcooked and cold. As seen in the photos, they were dried out and practically hollow inside. Overall, it was pretty great. I would go back for the pizza and hamburger any time. The pool tables were a fun...
Read moreLocal watering hole with great prices, friendly service and shockingly good food. At first glance, you might think, "OK...shot-and-a-beer kind of place; most of the food probably comes from the deep fryer." But it's NOT the bar food you might expect. Everything we've had has been with fresh ingredients and freshly prepared by somebody who seems more like a chef than a cook. Whoever it is back there in the kitchen, he/she takes pride in preparing good food. Even the presentation is thoughtful. These days I thought you had to go to a French restaurant to get actual gruyere on onion soup. Even my mom...the Scarsdale/Manhattanite whose favorite place to eat is Paris...when I offer to take her out to dinner in GB, she requests Bogies. I also feel comfortable with the LOCAL vibe of this place. How can I say it nicely? No Teslas in the...
