A terrific roadside "foot stand". No indoor seating but plenty of picnic tables located next to and behind, two outhouses as well (if your really need to go that badly). Limited hours of 11-4 Sun-Tues, Closed Wed, 11-7 Fri-Sat. Now for the good stuff....
Highly recommend the Shack Chili with cheddar and scallions, Hand Cut Fries, and the Sirloin Steak and Cheese with sweet onions and cheddar ale sauce. I ordered the Asian Salad and Shack Chili because I had skipped breakfast. The Asian Salad which was much larger, tastier and filling (also available with Grilled Chicken or Bacon for +$2) than I expected so I packed the Chili in my saddlebag for later.
Everything was fantastic and better than most full service restaurants. There was a line of about 12-people placing orders and the counter-person indicated about a 10-min wait, It was actually more like 5-min. They provide a beeper to alert you when you order is ready.
Check out their attached menu which includes Appetizers, Sandwiches, Burgers & Dogs, Hand Cut Fries, Soups & Salads and Maple Valley Ice Cream for your Sweet Tooth.
I rode up from CT with a friend, about 90 miles Back Road riding (180 round trip), and we've already planned a return trip. We both want to order what the other ordered as a taste of each just wasn't enough. Others around us as well as the Google reviews (avg 4.7 of 5) bear out our experience, excellent food, reasonable prices, fast service. You will not be disappointed (unless you go on Wednesday!)
P. S. The chili was the best I've ever had it reheated nicely in the microwave and I enjoyed it for my dinner after our trip. I plan to get another one to go the next time I visit, truly...
Read moreWow wow wow wow wow.! Did I say wow!? We are new to the area within the past couple years and have been told that this was a place to check out. We had the opportunity a while ago to stop at this roadside Burger stand. This could be housed in a five-star hard site and be no less exceptional. The options for burgers and other menu items were huge. Everyone that we tried was done to perfection. There's so much I want to say about it but it would take several pages. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable they knew exactly what they needed to do to get the product out. The burgers that we have were just top-notch the flavor the preparation the the quantity of food was crazy good. We had an Angus burger and a lamb burger and they were huge they were absolutely huge and again cook to perfection prepare to perfection we all so try the truffle fries huge portions all super prepared. We understand that this area is fond of offering truffle fries but none that we have tried have come to this level of yumminess. Is that a word yumminess I think so well it is now so if you can and you don't mind waiting because you're going to have to it's an outdoor thing it is a roadside shop but you will not be disappointed in any way shape or form for waiting the line and they also have an ice cream section on the other side so it's a great stop they have a picnic area out back where you can enjoy your food right away but you're welcome to take it with you eat in the car just great I mean I'm rambling probably but this place is...

I was curious about this place since I started going to great barrington for dispo runs but I either never had money or the time. I did today, so I stopped by after work. There was a car show so it was pretty crowded. The crowd was chill with some kids but not too bad.
While we're on the subject of crowds, it was packed but the wait looked worse than it actually was. However the larger your group the longer you have to wait. I didn't mind. It moved slow but you get your food quickly. Service was friendly.
I had enough chicken and burgers so I had the steak and cheese sandwich. It was a bit of a letdown. The portion was small, the cheese sauce overpowered everything and was not worth the tall price of $14.50. The chili fries were decent, bit again on the high side. Fantastic raspberry lemonade, though. The most praised item was the burger so I'll return to try that next time. They also put flowers as garnish on your food which was kind of weird. Well, this is the eclectic berkshires after all.
I would return during the week when the whole state isn't...
