Very disappointing. Nice large restaurant, good lighting, new chairs and tables. We were the first people for lunch that day and were seated next to a window, 30 seconds later the maître d' sat three people at the next table, so close that I could feel her chair on my chair. Incredible seating, given we were the only ones in the restaurant. I asked to have another table, and was looked at as if I were crazy. We ordered two dim sum and they were both fine and reasonably priced. We had two lunch specials. Both the hot and sour soup and wonton soup were terrific. The was double cooked pork had so much white pepper that I could hardly eat it. Not much pork and a few vegetables. My partner had the shrimp with garlic sauce, the shrimp was prepared nicely, but the dish had little flavor. I figured I would give them one more chance and ordered a dinner take-out portion of eggplant in garlic sauce. I tipped 30%, smiled and left. At home I opened the eggplant dish and saw just a thick brown gravy and pieces of mushy things that I could not recognize. I Just had the same dish at Capitol Seafood in Arcadia, California prepared exquisitely and also had it many times at Chengdu Palace where was almost as good as the Capitol Seafood version. One of my favorite dishes and it was just horrible. If you cannot make a dish maybe it should not be on the menu. I hope things get better, I will be back, (cannot stay away from Chinese restaurants;). Although I am not a big fan of Szechwan style cooking, but Chengdu Palace is down the street, where the food is great, expertly prepared, larger portions, and smiling service people and there are many Cantonese selections to choose from. I mark too easy, I usually give, 5 stars. 3 is the most I can give Green Lake Seafood...

It was our first time here, and based on my family's very bad experience (mainly because of how the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes went), we will NEVER go back. Before my wife and young daughter even had a chance to settle at our table, and before I was even seated, 3 or 4 servers were very aggressively pressuring us to answer if we liked plates X, Y, or Z, and already started putting plates on our table, some of which we did not even eat (because later, when we ACTUALLY HAD A CHANCE TO LOOK AT THE FOOD, we realized it was not actually what we wanted). If we only had a chance to make sure our young child was comfortably seated and if we could gather our thoughts for even 1 minute before we had plates shoved onto our table, we would have probably been able to make better choices. As a family that has very little free time, why would we ever return somewhere that forces its food on us? The last 5 minutes were also unpleasant. Right before we left, we explained our dissatisfaction to the manager, who did listen to us, but didn't apologize for our bad experience. From his body language and mannerisms, it was as if he was getting feedback from an anonymous survey and we weren't even there; in this moment, what I saw was that the customers did not matter, but only the feedback was valuable, as it would help him and his restaurant. Horrible customer service - don't eat here. Try Chengdu Palace; it's about a mile or two away, and people seem to like it...

Cantonese food at its finest. My partner and I came here for dinner for the first time and was extremely impressed. When we told our waiter we wanted to try the Beef Ho Fun, we were surprised to find out they were sold out for the night, however he recommended us other alternatives and we landed on getting the Soy Sauce Chow Mein which was fantastic. I had the same dish elsewhere before where it was overloaded with beansprouts but not here, it was the perfect amount.

For greens, we had the Snow Pea Leaf with Garlic and devoured the entire dish once it arrived on our table. It wasn't under or overcooked. It was hot and flavorful with a nice crisp to it.

For our main entrée we shared the Sweet and Sour Pork. It was crispy, tender, and saucy. I like the fact that the sauce wasn't too thick and heavy otherwise I wouldn't be able to finish the other dishes.

Overall, my first impression at Green Lake Seafood has been outstanding and I can't wait to come back to try their dim sum and Beef Ho Fun.

Update: Came back for dim sum and was quite satisfied. My only feedback was that some of the dishes felt cold and the Rice noodle with Fried Dough dish, the noodle wrapped felt a bit thick for me. I did enjoy they had all of the dishes I wanted at a dim sum restaurant. This is a solid place to go for dim sum. Highly recommend the Mango pudding...

Followed the reviewer recommendations for authentic Chinese food and ate here after a trip to nearby Costco. Place was packed with Chinese families on a Friday night (likely new year celebrations). We were seated quickly. Tables are uncomfortable for tall people due to metal bars on 2 sides. Ordered a spicy eggplant dish and crunchy seafood noodles. Plus the hot and sour soup and shrimp dumplings as appetizers. For both courses they managed to bring one and not the other, with a 5-10 min delay for each. So even when we were a party of 2, we couldn't eat together. To me, that's not great service. In addition, had to hail them multiple times for water with many failed attempts for eye contact each time as they refused to leave a pitcher. The good news was that the eggplant dish was amazing. Amazing and complex sour and spicy flavors. The noodle dish was good but somehow lacking depth. Decor was plain and the place has TVs (easier with kids). Also plenty of space between tables, which is good in winter. If I lived right by there, I would eat there again but not sure if I would drive >10 miles to eat there.

Nice option for midweek dim sum and Chinese food, though it doesn’t quite fit my ideal palette. I’ve had their mapo tofu and kung pao chicken on separate visits, along with their hot and sour soup. Mapo tofu: I tend to try this specific dish at most Chinese restaurants because I really enjoy it made a certain way. I can’t say I’d order it from here again, not because it’s bad but it didn’t have the mix of flavors I look for which more often is found in Sichuan-style restaurants. Kung pao chicken: I’ve had variations of this dish as something of a backup backup dish when nothing else stands out. The version here (shown in photo) is nothing to write home about. The flavors felt dull, with the occasional bit of heat from the peppers. This may sound sacrilegious but I enjoy the kung pao chicken from Panda Express more than most restaurants including this one. Again, nothing wrong or bad with this restaurant. I’ve eaten 2-3x here if I recall and would consider dropping by again if in the area, but it would be mainly to have cuisine that’s familiar and largely doesn’t irritate my stomach.
