I have been to this restaurant a few times since it transitioned from Dynasty Dim Sum to Chengu 1 Palace. The first time we came we tried ordering off the menu, and were pleasantly surprised by just how great everything tasted. To put things in perspective, we had been disappointed by Dynasty's menu, but loved their dim sum. The next few times we went for the roving a la carte dim sum, and it was just as good as Dynasty's. The whole family enjoyed and probably ate too much. The only criticism of the dim sum would be that the server's English competency was lacking and sometimes it was hard to figure out what was in a particular dish. We had been for dim sum so often, that we forgot that we originally loved their menu options. We ended up going with my Father on a random Tuesday evening and ordering off the menu (they still have dim sum, but made to order only). My son had the Tangerine Chicken and loved it. It was flavorful and just spicy enough for his taste. They made a special vegetable dish for my kids when we told them they loved carrots and baby corn (they sauteed it in a brown sauce). I had a spicy Szechuan Chicken dish with white meat chicken that was one of the most flavorful I've ever had. Not quite as much Szechuan pepper as I've had in China, but there was definitely a hit of its tongue numbing power. Everyone absolutely enjoyed all courses of the meal, and we kept asking ourselves why we hadn't ordered off the menu in so long. We will definitely be back, and I encourage...
Read moreWe've been going to Chengdu 1 Palace for about a year and even though they weren't the friendliest/talkative the food was worth it. Recently we went and ordered a soup to go because we wanted extra for another day because it's that good and they're about 9 miles away/25 minutes by car each way. They gave us the bag and we went on our way. We went to go eat it today and the broth was gone- all leaked into the bag and now I see dried up in our refrigerator. I called to let them know and she made it seem like it was our fault!! Speechless! I told her we got home and put it straight into the refrigerator and haven't touched it since Friday night (it's Sunday afternoon now). First of all, problem #1 is that it wasn't in a soup container that other Chinese restaurants put it in. It's not meant for liquids because the lid is very flimsy. After arguing back and forth, she offered to bring us just the broth and charge us $7 for delivery. I told her I have a receipt abd pictures to show that I wasn't lying but that didn't seem to phase her one way or another. I told her that I would never go there again if they didn't do the right thing and that didn't phase her either. I said that I would write a bad review and again no cares in the world. Horrible customer service when there was an issue and for that I will no longer support this business and want to share my experience...
Read moreI am so excited that we ordered takeout from here last week! It was some of the freshest tastiest Chinese food I've had in a while. I ordered Chinese food on a weekly basis. Sometimes we even order it twice a week. We were looking at different restaurants to go out to eat but decided to order in because of the weather and our usual spot does not deliver. Chengdu Palace was super easy to order and pay online! Contactless payment is an extra bonus during Covid. And the system was easy to use. It also gave an estimated delivery time and our delivery arrived approximately 5 to 10 minutes from the time of estimation. We ordered a Kung Pao Chicken dinner and the Garlic Beef. Both orders came with rice. One of the orders we specifically ordered the brown rice to see which rice we like better. Both pints of rice were cooked to perfection and of the two meals I don't have a favorite. They were both extremely delicious! I'm happy to write this five star review and I look forward to ordering from them again very soon. On Google Maps there are multiple options how to order but I recommend using their actual website or The restaurant's...
