My family and I have been coming to Sunrise and Sunset for a few years now, and we've loved it, good food and good service, but with the way my father and i were treated today, we will never be going back. For lunch today we thought it would be a great idea to have lunch, so my father ordered his usual omelette, and me I ordered eggs bacon, etc. When we first came in it wassnt busy so we naturally we imagined we would have a speedy meal. But with the few people who were there, it took a while for us to receive our order. Which didn't bother us. When the food arrived my father's omelette had unmelted cheese on the top, which was odd, but hey, oh well it's not like it was cold. Suffice it to say we were wrong. My father took one bite of it and quickly realized it was in fact cold. He then proceeded to open the omelette and found that the cheese on the inside was also unmelted and cold. My father isn't one to usually complain about such things, but he has been in the food industry since he was fourteen years old. So he told the waitress of this, and then took his complaint to the owner. My father told him that food shouldn't be cold, the reply from the owner being "well that's your opinion". A few moments later the owner took things personally and proceeded to yell at both me and my father and for lack of a better word, get in our faces and asking my father if he wanted to take this outside. Mind you all of this in front of about six or eight other customers. So naturally i myself raised my vouce at him and then we left the establishment, but was then followed out by the owner yelling at us, and calling us both foul names and threatening us. It would seem the owner has not had much experience with customer service.

UPDATE 6/15/2025: Returned here for Father’s Day. Unknowingly, I ordered the healthy lover’s omelet again. Just as good as the last time and highly recommend. My husband ordered the 2 egg special and while the hashbrowns were not crispy all over, they were good. Our daughter ordered the french toast platter. She ended up taking nearly half home with her. The toast was big and fluffy, her bacon was crispy, and the egg perfect! Still a great family restaurant here in GCS! Speed down, seat yourself, and enjoy a good breakfast!! Original review 2023: These are the reasons I removed 1 star: The ladies bathroom main soap dispenser did not work. The table did not have strawberry jam, but the restaurant did. Yes, I could have asked, but other tables had it, so all tables should have it. Last, there was too much butter on my toast which made it soggy. This why they earned 4 stars: The staff was great! They had good chemistry and made it a comfortable family atmosphere. We ordered the healthy lover’s omelet, which he two egg breakfast, and the tater special. The healthy lover’s omelet had turkey, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. The omelet was fluffy and not greasy! The two egg breakfast’s bacon was crispy and the eggs were scrambled to perfection. The tater special is a tortilla with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and cheddar cheese. It was not huge, but enough to fill. The hours are limited; definitely all before you go. If you are looking for a nice family place for breakfast, stop on in!

Googled a good sit down breakfast place and found this lil local favorite! It’s a old Waffle/Huddle House but the menu is far from those places. Randy Travis and the Judds were playing over the speakers and the staff were all happy and pleasant, they called the locals by their first names! Granny (Vickie) was my server 😊 and the food was fast and tasty although it was packed! As far as the food…Anytime I can get Corned Beef Hash and Raisin bread for breakfast, count me in!! Food was tasty and hot. Will be back to try the lunch menu soon…Grilled Liver and Onions, Meat Loaf, or maybe Country Fried Steak! Yum! 🤤 Included pics of menu. They serve the entire menu during open hours! 6am through lunch. They are not open for dinner time.

If I could rate this place a negative 10 I would, these are the most spoiled incompetent, give me, waitresses I’ve ever met in my life especially the 22 yr old snot nosed ā€œManager ā€œ Crystal or whatever she might consider herself. when I asked for the manager the lady pointed into the direction of the server who was doing the gossiping!!! while trying to enjoy my meal, all I could hear was her degrading another server to someone else, which was not only unprofessional, but tasteless and really showed what kind of people I was around oh and god forbid dont be a nice looking woman and try to get service in this place, I waited almost 15 minutes to even get recognized that I was there and then another 15 before someone took my drink order and at least 10 more minutes before she came back to my table, and at that point I’ve already heard enough and was disgusted by their attitudes and how they put down their other servers, I wanted nothing to do with someone that thinks it’s okay to act like that! I’m sure since she acted so comfortable bad mouthing these other people this is something she does all the time and this is just her personality, seems she has to put others down to try and Bring herself up... and I guess that attitude seems to be rubbing off on the other servers, BECAUSE NO ONE CAME TO HELP ME! And this seems to be the standard that’s excepted there!! so if you do finally receive service, you would pay to take it back, just to leave the place! you hear the waitresses gossiping about another waitress some customers I guess that go in, and then bad mouthing one of HER OWN EMPLOYEES IN FRONT OF HER OWN CUSTOMERS! ! You can hear ALL of their drama, and I’m sorry I came in to eat and get friendly service, which in my defense it did kinda looked like the place I would get that home style heart warming service at, but instead I got a high school cafeteria, so along with my redneck special... Not sure if I was supposed to get all of that with my 10.00 meal, but I sure got a HILLY BILLY HOE DOWN! Service terrible, management WORSE! And no owner around!!! I’m born and raised in the south and this is definitely not southern hospitality... along with many others... I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK, i was absolutely disgusted with these ā€œ young ladiesā€ ( and I use that term looselyā€) and there lack of work ethic and class... in my opinion the owner needs to completely redo its staff as this should not be excepted. the only reason I can see they wouldn’t is if the owner is just the same and in that case It only gives more reason for these people to go under. For being one of the few restaurants in such a small beautiful town they undoubtedly have good business as there are few choices around, but for this to excepted, as it seems I’m not the only one to have one of many issues here, I hope another spot opens, more deserving of...

Update, 6/24: Thank you for your reply, but there isn't anything you can do, as it should have happened at the time, like an apology, remorse and an attitude that we were valued customers not being demanding or difficult, but rather overlooked and ignored. I have no intention on returning.

The actual owner(s) need to read this, evaluate what was/is the problem, and fix it for the benefit of future customers and the business. Everyone working in a restaurant or retail environment should be invested in the success of the entire operation, and all customers within.

I have been here twice with my wife and specifically wanted to go here for Father's Day. So we did, and arrived about 1:10 PM, just in time, as the place closes at 2 PM. We were greeted fairly quickly, got a table; the place was about 80% full in my estimation. The server was pleasant enough, took our order and brought our drinks. All seemed OK.

20+ minutes or so go by and we're having a nice conversation. Even got our coffees refilled. Another table had been sat near us before we arrived (I saw them order) and I noticed that they were done with their meal and were leaving, so it made me notice how long it had been. I called the server over (through another server) and asked about our order, and she seemed a little agitated and said they were still getting orders out on the other side of the restaurant.

I was nothing but polite and respectful and we were patient, so let it go. Another table of three ladies had been sat next to us a few minutes earlier and after maybe 5-6 minutes, their food was served to them! We decided to leave, it was almost 1:50 PM! The server told us that they were making our eggs, and I told her that we were sorry and leaving.

The bottom-line here is that no one apologized, the server seemed pissed at us, as if we did something wrong. When I spoke to the manager (or cook?) for a moment, again, no apologies or please let us make this right, on the house or nothing.

Why did this happen? Who knows, but between our server, the other server, the cooks, a manager, etc., etc., someone should have been paying attention and noticed. Who's...
