Title: A Memorable Experience at Spring Park Coffee Shop: A Blend of History, Ambiance, and Personal Reflections

Introduction: Nestled within the heart of our town, Spring Park Coffee Shop stands as a testament to the rich historical tapestry that surrounds us. With its antique furniture, extensive collection of historical information, and a delightful array of coffee and pastries, the café offers a unique and inviting atmosphere. However, amidst the cozy ambiance, an unexpected trigger emerged, reminding us of the lasting impact of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This essay aims to explore our experience at Spring Park Coffee Shop, highlighting its historical significance, charming decor, and the bittersweet encounter with Christmas music.

Historical Significance: Spring Park Coffee Shop serves as a living museum, preserving the historical essence of our town. The abundance of historical information displayed throughout the café provides a captivating glimpse into the past. From photographs capturing significant moments in local history to artifacts that tell stories of bygone eras, the coffee shop immerses visitors in a rich historical narrative. This unique feature not only enhances the café's ambiance but also fosters a sense of connection to our community's roots.

Charming Antique Decor: The café's interior is adorned with antique furniture, creating an atmosphere that transports patrons to a bygone era. The carefully selected pieces, each with its own story to tell, add a touch of elegance and nostalgia to the space. The creaking wooden floors, the soft glow of vintage lamps, and the intricate details of the furniture all contribute to a cozy and inviting environment. It is within this charming setting that we embarked on our journey of exploration and indulgence.

A Delightful Culinary Experience: Spring Park Coffee Shop offers a wide variety of coffee blends and delectable pastries, catering to the diverse tastes of its patrons. From robust espressos to creamy lattes, each cup of coffee is expertly crafted, ensuring a memorable experience for coffee enthusiasts. The pastries, ranging from flaky croissants to decadent cakes, are equally enticing, providing the perfect accompaniment to a warm cup of coffee. The café's commitment to quality and variety ensures that every visit is a delightful culinary adventure.

The Unforeseen Trigger: While the overall experience at Spring Park Coffee Shop was enjoyable, an unexpected trigger emerged during our visit. As the holiday season approached, the café began playing Christmas music, a common practice to create a festive atmosphere. However, for some individuals, such as...

Warning- Race will be discussed. Normally my co-worker will order coffee and drinks and I will add to her order. This time I decided to take a trip. When I walked in the line was very long, but I waited to the tune of almost and hour. As I watch the young lady make drink after drink and call names for order pick up, I anxiously waited for mine. I finally saw her grab the non-fat milk and the peppermint flavoring, I knew this one was mine. The drink was made and placed on the counter. No name was called and the patrons behind me were now starting to get their drinks. I decided to walk up and ask who the drink belonged to since she said no name and continued to serve as if the drink wasn't there. It was mine. I asked why no name was called and that I have been waiting. She sat right in my face and lied saying the cashier made it and forgot to call my name. If this was the first time, I would TRY to write this off as a mistake. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME! There is nothing to make me believe that in 2 visits they 'forgot' to call the black girl's name. I was the only POC in there. To be brushed off with no apology and shrugged at really put the icing on the cake to let me know it was intentional. The look on her face showed she could care less; I watched her pleasantries and delightful demeanor with everyone else except me. Now if this wasn't about race then what was it? This was not an off day for her because if so, I would not have witnessed a totally different interaction with the patrons just seconds before me. Not worth the wait, and the feeling like my skin color determined how I...

My two concerns were the methods they used for taking / filling orders, then the disrespect shown when this resulted in an honest mistake.

No order number was provided by the cashier and no details of where/how to wait or if they would bring drinks out was explained by the cashier.

We assumed we should stand where they might let us know the drinks are ready after they're made. Two drinks were made and called out at once and handled simultaneously. One of which was mine, and I assumed erroneously the other was my girlfriend's. After grabbing and sipping the drinks for a couple of minutes (while our food was being prepared), we realize the third drink being announced was actually ours instead of the two presented simultaneously.

We apologized and returned the incorrect beverage, resulting in a nasty look and an eye roll from one of the females making the drinks.

So, I have a request from the owner or manager. Please find a way to prevent this error from occurring. Most coffee shops track orders and keep orders together. Most coffee shops take and call out first names to not mix up orders. I'm sure there are half a dozen ways to keep this from happening.

Until a better process is rolled out, could you please ask your baristas to not be rude to the customer? I have not been to this coffee shop enough times to learn the archaic process used.

The coffee was good, but the line was long, the process was chaotic and a barista was rude. Will not return unless meeting a friend, and s/he insists on this establishment, in which case I will not order anything.

This was my experience...
