We've lived in Clay county for 20 + years and frequently visited this location before it changed ownership. Hosted many parties there. Celebrations of life, baby showers, graduations. After all we've read and came in being hopeful, we were pretty disappointed. Being busy shouldn't be an excuse for poor customer service. Communication and building reapport with your customers should be a must in this business. Standing around chatting instead of checking on your tables doesn't hold up to "being busy." Yes, there was a party in the back, but our waitress wasn't attentive at all. Being locals, we are totally understanding of new management and training staff. However! Waiting 35 to 45 minutes for drink refills was a bit much, she didn't even put our orders in at the bar until she was reminded twice. Asking for crackers for a little one seemed to be too much for our waitress because after asking twice, she still didn't come back. Food was OK, but nothing to brag about. After an hour and twenty minutes, we got our food. Oysters should have been lightly steamed as requested. Literally, every other oyster was cooked differently.. maybe 2 lightly steamed, the rest were either over done, rubbery and shriveled up or burnt. I'm pretty sure I got someone's mess up. I will say the male whom I'm assuming was the owner had communication skills and at least handled himself well.. way better than the blond, who I'm assuming was his wife and co-owner. Her approach was off and quit frankly piss poor when she knew there was an issue. Yes, members of my party were upset, but instead of attempting to correct the situation, she wanted to run her mouth. Won't be coming back, won't be recommending. From what I've read, a lot of people won't be visiting again. It's a shame because the location is worth the drive and the prices are decent but they have some work to do if they want locals to contribute to...
Read moreMy wife and I frequented this place for wings when it was Ronnie's. It was a good place we enjoyed. Over the years, especially during the last couple of years as Ronnie's, it went downhill. The servers worked hard, but were continuously understaffed, the place got dirtier and dirtier, and every other time we stopped, waiting times increased and the wings were undercooked to a dangerous level when they did arrive. We eventually stopped going. We decided to revisit after not going for a year and a half to see if things had improved.
I am happy to say things did improve in a big way and it was apparent as soon as we walked in. There is new ownership, and the difference is night and day. We ordered wings, and they were not huge, but were spot on and very good, and the food arrived hot, and that is important to me. I will take a medium sized wing prepared properly in good sauce over a larger wing in lackluster sauce, soft, and undercooked There was plenty of servers, the place was clean and remodeled, and one of the owners 'Mallory' was there. visible, working, and made it a point to stop at our table to make sure our visit was what it should be. Their service was great, the wings were great, the atmosphere was great, and we will be going...
Read moreGood food, friendly service. The menu is small and the prices are somewhat large (lunch for 2 that consisted of 2 sodas and 2 sandwiches was well over $30 before tip) but I guess they’re somewhat comparable, given our current crazy economy. My biggest issue was how DIRTY the place was. We got there a few minutes before opening and waited for the doors to be unlocked. The first couple to walk inside went straight to the bar. The second party was seated at a booth. My hubs and I were seated at a very dirty high top table. Seriously, I had to use my menu to scrape off the chunks of last night’s meals onto the floor so that it joined the discarded old straw and other food chunks from the previous night. Yuck! Now I get that this place is a bar, so I’m not expecting a sterile hospital OR environment, but there’s really no reason for a place to be so filthy right at opening at 1:00 in the afternoon. I visited the bathroom before we finished our meal, and the public bathroom in the park across the street was at least 5 times cleaner AND was supplied with toilet paper, unlike the restaurant, which had TP in only one of the 3 stalls. Based on our experience, I might give this place another chance if I’m in the area maybe, but I won’t make it a dining...
