Definitely a solid choice for fast casual Mexican. Ample parking as they are in strip mall with a devoted parking lot. The menu is at the front and you order and pay at the same time. You get a number and a tray if you ordered chips or a dip. It took 10-15 minutes for our food to arrive. I ordered the grilled chicken and al pastor tacos with sour cream and tomatoes as a side. The chicken was good and you could taste the grill marks. Al pastor was good as well. The tomato and sour cream are sides so extra charge but she gave me two side cups of each so well worth the cost. I also ordered the guacamole which was a bit bland but at least no hard avocados in it. My other dining companions ordered arroz con pollo and a chicken burrito. Both would recommend. The staff are also very friendly. We were checked in twice even though you don’t have an official server. Looks like it is family run. Overall, a solid place for some fast casual Mexican grub. Would come again!

I had the chimichanga. The flavors were there, unfortunately it was not hot. Makes me wonder if it was made up ahead of time. One would think something coming out of a deep fryer would be hot. The prices were very reasonable. Would have been nice if there would have been an actual table service. You have to stand in line to order, that could be tedious concerning they only have one cash register. Overall I would recommend. Considering so far this is the best place in Traverse City to get Mexican food that I've been to. Definitely avoid all the eateries down in Traverse City.

Was recommended by a local guy "Rich" he said it was the Best Mexican restaurant in the entire area and he was right. It is a taqueria and they do have chips and salsa but it's not like a typical run-of-the-mill get full off of the chips and salsa restaurant. The food is fantastic and service was just as good. With all my reviews if possible bathrooms are a big part and they were spotless. Great place a definite must stop if your craving Mexican food.

I love Mexican food and was excited to try this while visiting Interlochen. I ordered a taco platter with the meat being grilled chicken. The tacos were.. so bland? Just chicken (I think they accidentally gave me the shredded chicken instead of grilled), grated cheese, and lettuce. No seasoning AT ALL, and no sauce or anything to make up for the completely flavorless chicken/cheese/lettuce. It was so odd for Mexican food to be so completely unflavored. The rice and beans were seasoned normally and were actually pretty good, making the tacos all the more odd. They were extremely busy and the wait was very long, so that could explain the meat mixup, but not the total lack of flavor. A...

The food is not that special, it's just standard middle-of-the-road Tex-Mex food. But here in fusion-happy Northern Michigan, middle-of-the-road Tex-Mex food is worth a solid 4 stars... no one is here to reinvent the taco, and that is a great thing. They've got all the greatest hits here: the previously mentioned tacos, as well as burritos, fajitas, enchiladas... it is all standard fare. The staff is outstandingly friendly and attentive, which is why I think Mimi's deserves a 5th star.

Everyone from a major metropolitan area who moves to Northern Michigan will eventually long for a food option that doesn't taste like it was made by white people, and Mimi's...
