Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Greenfield Township

Stopped in tonight about 5:20 pm with my two grandsons. We were greeted quickly and seated and our waitress came over to our table quickly. We placed our order after a few minutes and waited and waited and waited. Many people came in after us, ordered and were served their food in a timely manner. After about a half hour I got my salad and another half hour went by before we finally got the cheeseburgers my grandsons ordered. Our waitress checked on us frequently and apologized several times for the delay. Her manager told her there was a computer glitch and our order had not been entered and her manager would make an adjustment on our bill. Still waiting and waitress kept checking on us and the food. Manager was supposed to come to our table to talk to us. Never came even after I asked for her to come over. Finally got our food and went to pay our bill. Asked for manager to come out from the grill so I could talk to her. Another waitress relayed the message and the manager would not come out. Waitress asked me what it was about and I said I need to talk to the manager. She finally came out and I explained how disappointed I was in the neglect of serving us our food and how long it took. She said she cooked the food in the order of when it was entered. I told her I didn't think that was accurate and I believed our waitress had entered it a long time ago. This place is an Absolute JOKE! Haven't been ther for about two years. Last time the the place was about half filled with customers and took entirely too long to get food and was not great. This time it took an hour and twenty minutes to get cold food, and the wrong food order (that's placed on the table, does NOT including consumption / I am not exaggerating). While waiting for our order the couple to our right received a fish sandwich instead of a fish platter, and the seated people behind us called for the manager to complain about their order being incorrect and getting cold food. They seemed very upset and the waiter apologized repeatedly but with no explanation just i'm so sorry!. Upon leaving the cashier asked how was everything? I replied very bad. He thought I was kidding. then I sternly explained our visit, He offered to call the manager up to maybe discount the meal. I said NO. I just want to leave. I wasn't trying to haggle a better price, I was attempting to answer the question in an informative manner. I thought that something must have happened to cause such delays and mistakes with customers orders like an accident or problem with equipment in the kitchen, something. But no one ever offered an explanation, and from the cashiers response nothing seemed out of order, this is just the way they operate. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the last time, not again. Got there at 8:10. There are maybe 4-6 tables total seated in the restaurant, leaving over half of it empty. After about 15 minutes of watching no less than two workers sort of wander around aimlessly (and do literally nothing in that time), someone comes up and asks us if we need to pay. We tell them we are waiting to be seated. Tell them we are just there for milkshakes. We order 4 kids milkshakes and 3 adults, plus waters. They come back with 6 kids and 2 adult waters. 45 minutes go by, and they finally bring out the milkshakes we ordered. We add two milkshakes on our order to go. Fast forward about 15 minutes. Milkshakes are gone (kids loved them!). Husband goes in the bathroom to clean up my son and the bathroom obviously needs attention. Paper towels and trash all over the floor. The trashcan literally falls on him. He sends me out to the car with the kids while he cleans up our son. Ten minutes later he comes out. Apparently, someone came up after he had been standing there for about 7 minutes and said "are you still waiting on your milkshakes to go?" Yeah. We will never go back. The place used to be pretty nice and timely. I've heard of so many others with crappy experiences recently though. Don't waste your time. It wasn't busy, there was no reason for such terrible service. Waiters and waitresses weren't even apologetic that it took them 3/4 of an hour to make 7...
