La Monarca Michoacana — Restaurant in Greensboro

Ice cream is very good, and my kids LOVE it. The staff is always very kind and patient with my kids. Adults who don't like this place should probably buy a pint at the grocery store and go home and eat alone- this isn't the place for them. A gripe I have is the television is always on some violent crime-laden show that is completely inappropriate for anybody to watch while out in public. Being subjected to that has been a major turn off. We've eaten here over a dozen times, but the tv has been offensive more-than-half of our visits. Another gripe is, as soon as your order is handed over the counter, the staff disappears behind a door and you are monitored by camera - which makes it virtually impossible to request a change in the tv. No bathrooms available either. If the ice cream wasn't very good I wouldn't recommend this establishment. As soon as they open a bathroom, seem more attentive, set better ambiance, and provide more clarity to their menu, all other ice cream shops should be on notice. Otherwise, they seem to be shooting themselves in the foot with all the less-than-favorable attributes I...

We had a group of seven looking for a birthday treat, and as visitors from Durham Google sent us here. The pictures looked great, and the flavors lived up to those expectations. I had blackberry-cheese ice cream that was amazing, and the samples I got of other flavors were equally creative and delicious. I look forward to coming back, should we find ourselves in Greensboro again - it was really a horizon-expanding visit.

Had a wonderful first visit at Monarca! The person taking orders was super-helpful and answered all of our questions about flavors of ice cream we had never tried. She gave us some recommendations and indulged our quest for the ice cream that would probably be strangest and also tastiest for our palates. And the ice cream was wonderfully dense and full of flavor. There are tons of choices, so we will definitely be back. (And the prices are great!) All in all, it was a great capstone to our summer quest to eat at every ice cream shop...
