The restaurant looked really lovely upon arriving and the staff were very friendly. My kids didn't like the Mac n cheese and they were kind enough to take it off the tab despite my willingness to pay. I asked about gluten free options and was told salad (even though this restaurant came up on a gluten free in Greensburg search). I asked if the quinoa was gluten free and told yes. There were other menu choices that i could have adjusted to accommodate my needs if Kelly had slowed down long enough to listen. She didn't, though and after the kids refusing the Mac and cheese I didn't want to bother with a special request so I ordered my only non- salad option, the salmon with quinoa/couscous - specified with quinoa. I was delighted they asked how i wanted my salmon cooked. My meal came and gets was cous cous on my plate. I attempted to send it back, but was told it was quinoa. I have celiac and really enjoy cooking, so I was quite certain what was in front of me. When Kelly came back she accused me of making a poor choice by coming to a "dive bar in Greensburg if I had a food allergy. " my friend attempted to diffuse the situation by asking to see the packaging for the grain (see included photos). Kelly proceeded to ask if there was an issue with the food. The number one ingredient was wheat. I assured her there was. Kelly was also overheard talking to the other staff about why someone with a food allergy would come to a dive bar. Call me crazy, but when's the last time you had a Brussel spout appetizer and salmon cooked to your liking at a dive bar? Let me assure you I tipped Kelly way more than she deserved, because she could have caused me to be sick for days, but maybe she'll think twice before being rude to a guest with an auto immune disease visiting from New England trying to find food like any other person.

Pretty good food, neat atmosphere, hit-or-miss service and limited parking though. We've been to Bar Nine a couple of times. The food is quite good - good appetizers, (chicken) tacos with an awesome ranch sauce, and burgers. My wife did have the tuna recently and didn't care for the seasoning though. The bacon & brussel sprout appetizer is especially good. The atmosphere is nice. It's small and intimate. The indoor bar area has a warm, rustic feel that carries to the outdoor area - which is partitioned from the parking lot with industrial-looking rustic metallic walls that give it a cool vibe. On the negative side, we had terrible service on our last visit (8/8/2018). We sat in the indoor bar area at a table that was serviced by the bar staff. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all and there were 3 bartenders on duty, which seemed to be plenty for the workload. However, our waitress was miserable and non-attentive. We waited so long for our check that my wife ended up leaving before me. The waitress gave us bad attitude throughout the meal. That being said, I don't believe this represents a typical experience at Bar Nine and we will go back to give it another chance. I consider this bar to be one of the nicer modern enhancements to the Greensburg area and I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Be aware that parking is rather limited here, with less than 25 (or so) spots - one of which is handicap. And the lot itself is very narrow. So if you have 2 vehicles, bring the smaller one.

Weird experience. Was told we couldn't come in without a reservation, we asked about sitting at the bar and was told "I guess of you want". So we did. The place didn't appear busy, around 18 customers with at least 4 servers 1 hostess. It took a bit to put in an order, drinks came out fast (perks of sitting at the bar) but the food took a long time. Another table who ordered after us must have ordered the same exact food since theirs came out first... It took another 15min after that for our food to arrive. Food was OK, Mediterranean flatbread could have used arugala. French dip sandwich was tasty. Unfortunately, our drinks ran bare and we were waiting to cash out for over 30min. There were 2 young servers behind the bar giving us weird looks but they were busy doing dishes... By the time we paid and left, we were 2 hours in to this adventure. Seems like this could be a decent place for a drink and some bar food. But I suggest waiting for a less busy time to visit.

I came into this establishment one time, in early August. I ordered an old fashioned at the bar. What the bartender, Dasher, brought to me was not an old fashioned. He did not muddle sugar with bitters, nor was there citrus rind or a cherry in my glass. I told him that I had ordered an old fashioned and that he must have misheard me. He let out a burst of laughter and said "I make my drinks differently. My regulars love my drinks" with an incredibly bad attitude. I just don't understand how I can order such a classic drink and be brought something completely different without a warning, and then be expected to drink it. He didn't offer to make me a new drink, so without drinking it, I got up and left.

Before I made it to the bar, I had dinner with a few friends at a table. All of our burgers were amazing and our service was fantastic. I probably would have continued coming just for the food, but soon after I went, I heard their chef quit because he was unhappy with the direction of the establishment.

Obviously, I didn't plan to write a review because my visit was almost 2 months ago, but a hand full of my friends no longer frequent this place because of the fact that their chef left. Also, the only other review of this place is about how terrible the food was after they hired their new chef. I felt it necessary to share my terrible experience at the bar with my main man, Dasher.

There are plenty of businesses in Greensburg with great food and much friendlier bartenders who aren't completely and utterly full of...
