Well it's been about two weeks since I contacted the administrative staff, per the request that they made on this site. After the initial contact was made, no other/future contact was initiated by the staff at the Palace/Westmoreland Trust. So sad, but true...there's many other venues offering live music in our area and I'll surely not only boycott the Palace and the Westmoreland Trust, but I'll also let my friends and family know that this is NOT where they want to buy concert tickets and/or donate money!
I actually felt threatened by the box office manager's tone of voice, and as a ticket buying customer, i shouldn't have to tolerate that type of attitude. Maybe she was stressed from Covid and how it was affecting things at the theatre but I don't know...that's the only thing that I could think of.... All in all, there was no resolve and I didn't get a refund but what irked me the most is that the manager totally lied and documented untruths, which in her mind became 'her truth'. But, 'her truth' isn't the reality. My show was canceled a handful of times and I was told by a box office worker (a gentleman who I've talked to on occasion over the years) to wait until the last minute before turning in your tickets because the artists are cancelling and maybe the new date will present will less Covid concerns. Well the artist cancelled many times but when the show was then scheduled, I had Covid concerns which I implicitly addressed but as I mentioned, it fell seemingly purposefully on deaf ears. I was told no refunds as it stated in the ticket. Thats understandable if the show wasn't rescheduled 4 times. And I have stated, i received instruction from one of the box office staff to wait until the last day before the show and then call and get your refund. Which I did but was subsequently transferred to a very uncordial and loud management staff who presented as rage; totally unsympathetic to my concerns. She actually said, ' this is what the Westmoreland Trust hired me to do' . That's questionable in my mind because from a business perspective, that's the worst type of person that would help an organization blossom and prosper! It was such a sickening experience. I used to brag about the palace and tell my friends to see all the shows there and what a great time it was, however, now I find myself telling my friends to avoid the palace theatre. When the Westmoreland Trust hired a tyrant, it's like the old saying goes, one bad apple ruins and rots the rest of the bushel. Thank you Westmoreland Trust for NOT listening AND NOTcaring!!!
My experience with the box office staff was absolutely terrible. Please boycott this venue as they are very customer unfriendly. After a show was rescheduled several times, they refused a refund when I expressed my concerns about Covid issues. Very poor customer service/consumer relations as the manager presented with an extremely arrogant and condescending attitude/personality... Not good. This tyrannical attitude negatively tainted the Westmoreland trust and the palace theatre reputation. I will never donate to the Westmoreland trust,...
Read moreI got an email from the Palace Theater for the Justin Willman show for Pennsylvania. I live in Ohio, there is a Palace Theater in Columbus where I live. The location was in the email but in small font to the side. I didn't think anything of the email since we have a theater here. I clicked the link & went to the theater site, there was no mention of location before or around the buy tickets link. The next 2 pages did not have a location listed. The following page was for seating, which I did as I immediately saw the chart on the page. I missed the small print at the top, which did have the location, still not thinking about getting an email for a Palace Theater from another state. I receive my confirmation and in bold letters right away it showed the location. I searched their policy and saw no refund. I hoped it was most likely for scalpers (so they don't return a bunch of unbought tickets). I decided to try, so I called and spoke with a woman. I was completely honest about my mistake and that the location was displayed, but it was in such a way that wasn't very noticeable until it was too late. I wasn't in the mindset that thought I would get an email from a single location from another state when, usually, I get events with multiple locations, or just from Ohio. I was very apologetic and explained everything as it happened, and was at least expecting some understanding, even if the refund was denied. The woman was hostility dismissive. I understand upholding policy, but it shouldn't be at the expense of decent customer service. Sometimes we can't help each other, even if we want to, but does that mean we should succumb to such rude pettiness when someone is simply asking for a little understanding. As far as the policy goes, I get not allowing a refund for a few days before the event, but weeks before would give them plenty of time to resell the tickets. Be extra careful of the fine print, especially when you're not expecting it. If not, not only will you have to deal with the loss of money and something to look forward to, but the nasty chiding from an irrationally angry &...

I’ve been purchasing tickets for my mother and her friend at The Palace Theatre for the past three years, and I can honestly say this gem in downtown Greensburg is something truly special.
The programming has been consistently top-tier, offering a wide range of shows that keep my mother (who sees over 20 shows a year!) thoroughly entertained and engaged. Even more impressive than the lineup, though, is the staff. They remember my mother and treat her like absolute royalty every time she walks through the doors—something that means the world to both of us.
If you’re not already a member of The Palace Theatre, you need to become one immediately. Membership gives you advance notice of upcoming shows, priority seating, and a feeling of being truly connected to one of the cultural cornerstones of the community.
The theatre itself is stunning—elegant, historic, and beautifully maintained. It’s a true highlight of downtown Greensburg and a reason to keep coming back again and again.
If I had to offer one piece of constructive feedback, it would be to continue expanding and diversifying the programming. My mother does end up seeing some of the same shows year after year. But at 84, I’m just so grateful that she has a place she loves, where she feels seen, welcomed, and genuinely thrilled to attend.
Bravo, Palace Theatre—you have our loyalty and...
