I was pretty disappointed with our experience. I will say our waitress Kayla was fine. First, we called in a gluten free order for pickup after a long day at Idlewild. They said it would be ready in a half hour. When we got there, we said we had a pickup order but were a little early. They girl told us we better grab the last outdoor table if we wanted it while we waited. The waitress seemed a little upset we were sitting there with a pickup order and eventually told us that they had called us and said that they wouldn't make our order until we got there. I have no idea why they would do this, but we definitely never got a phone call. If that had been the case, we would have canceled our order and went somewhere quick with our 2 year old son that needed to get to bed. When the pizza was brought out, she apologized for it taking so long, but it had touched gluten so they had to cook a new one. I would have completely appreciated this if my daughter and I didn't get horrible pains that was most likely caused by gluten. After we were halfway done with our dinner, we got a call from this restaurant asking if we were running late to pick up our order. What?? I was disgusted at this point. Again, our waitress apologized, which was appreciated. But on our ride home back to Pittsburgh, my daughter and I both started to get stomach pains. Having celiac, I was really hoping this restaurant was going to be great. It is so hard to find and trust a restaurant with gluten free food. I didn't find it here. Although the food tasted good and our waitress was polite, I would not be returning due to the lack of communication, the disorganization, and the food that was most likely NOT...
Read moreI know every restaurant is struggling to find employees, but if you can’t keep up with volume, then you need to decide what to focus on. If you can’t take care of your dine in guests, you need to stop take out. Likewise, if you can’t keep up with take out you should close your dining room and patio. It’s a shame because the patio is great and I know you’ve put a lot of money in to the new roof. At the very least you should let your customers know you are short staffed and to expect a longer wait than usual. We were told to seat ourselves and someone would bring us menus in just a moment… after 15 minutes we just looked up the menu on our phone so we were ready when the server came over. It took another 15 minutes just to get a few waters. Tables that sat down 10-15 minutes after us got their pizzas before we did… at least we had drinks though, 2 tables next to us received and finished their pizzas before getting drinks. Our salad came after the pizza and our appetizer never did come out. After dropping our drinks off we never did see the server again, the cooks were bringing our food out. From start to finish it took 2 hours to get a pizza, salad and waters. The other server eventually brought the appetizer that had clearly been sitting for awhile. Not sure of her name, but the dark haired server was clearly hustling, while the other not so much. My husband had to go inside to get us a box and to pay the bill. I really would rethink what you’re doing moving forward because the 5-6 tables on the patio near us last night all had the same experience and opinion as us. I hope things change in the future because we do really love the food and it’s...
Read moreWe ordered 3 of the 28in pies. HOLY COW. They are huge!! We EASILY fed a mix of 45 adults and children. We did fit 3 on 1 six foot table, but they hung off the edges a bit. One of our moms ordered the gluten free cheese pizza and didn't have a reaction at all and said it was super good. I'm not sure how you would fit the pizzas in a regular car. They took up the empty 3x3 area in my minivan. They cut the pizza into squares so it's not like you have giant slices of pizza. You get about 50 pieces per pizza. Each slice averages 3x3 inches. We did get pepperoni on one and it was evenly distributed throughout so it's not like they went light on the topping. We got sausage on another and it's crumbly sausage which was different what I'm used to but good. Definitely not spicy for either the pepperoni or sausage. It was not thick like Sicilian pizza but it was not paper thin either. Even in the middle it was still kind of fluffy and amazing. It was thicker than the normal pizza I'm used to but not thick. If that makes sense. Good flavor. If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be ordering from this restaurant again!!...
