Prantl's Bakery — Restaurant in Greensburg

We requested dinosaur themed cupcakes for my son's 5th birthday party today! Trying to buy local and support small business, we chose this bakery, and this is what we got!!!! Wow! I tried to call to express my frustration and was met with very rude staff who could not care less how I felt. They simply stated that they were the one that took the order, and we got what she had written down. I then asked to speak with the manager and again was met with rudeness and disrespect as I was expressing my frustration. I asked if we could have them fixed and was simply told "no". There is nothing that they could do. I expressed that if I wanted to spend 42 dollars on plain, white, wedding looking cupcakes for my son's 5th birthday, I would have gone to Walmart and bought them there for 15 dollars. She stated I wasn't charged for any additional decorations, I explained that we were under the impression that the 42 dollars was because they were decorated! Half of the cupcakes icing looks as though someone stuck their finger in them. I'm so disappointed!! I asked if there was anything they could do because my son's party was in 3 hours. She stated, "no, because there were no decorators there." I then asked if we could bring them back, they again said "no." (Side note, if you are a manager, shouldn't you be able to do any job?) Beyond frustrated, I asked to speak to someone above her, and she stated that there was no one above her. I asked if she was the owner, she said "no." I asked to speak to the owner, she said "he doesn't speak to people about complaints." (WHAT?!?) I asked if he didn't care when customers were extremely unhappy with the bakery. Eventually, she took down my name and number to have the owner call me back. I asked when I should expect to hear back, she did say he MAY call back today because she was going to call him after we got off the phone. The only positive note was that the manager did call back shorty after, stating that the owner offered to have us come pick up some dinosaur decorations to decorate them ourselves!! So for 42 dollars at this bakery and you ask for dinosaur themed cupcakes, you can expect to get plain white, wedding looking cupcakes for your son's 5th birthday and then decorate them yourself. Great service and phone work. The cake i needed was ready to roll at short notice and very tasty. Large selection of all kinds of fun stuff.

Edit-So after spending almost 1k a this location i was treated terrible. I called 3 times throughout the day to make an order and could not get through. I think they had forwarded the phones to a cell phone. I called another location to ask an a few hours later got a call from this location. They were upset i "told" on them and when i went on to say they should have just answered the phone they claimed they were to busy. I started giving my order and was told "All advance orders need 48 hours" I have order for almost 3 months straight and was never told that them putting 3 dozen assorted pastry out of the case required 48 hours, its not a wedding cake, its stuff they have every day, i pre-order to save time. I told her i had not heard that before and went to question in when she interrupted and said "Excuse me! I asked what you wanted to order" This is a direct quote, like i'm a kid or something. Obviously the answer was nothing and i let her know the usual way and hung up. Only gave the food a two star bc the taste of my cakes were good but other then that my experience was a total disappointment with them. I had emailed back and fourth with them multiple times agreeing what would be done on my cake for a gender and name reveal for them to mess up and misspell how I wanted my child’s name along with a bit of sloppier work for them with the other work I’ve seen them post along with when the smash cake was suppose to release my baby’s gender you couldn’t even barely see the color it was and it had barely any filling to release the gender so I had to tell my other family members the gender of my baby which was the point of the cake and how I was actually going to spew my baby’s name. Ridiculous amount of money spent on two cakes that were a total disappointment for the point of them. Along with the employee that did my cake knew me and I didn’t know she had worked there or would be doing my cake went to my other family members and revealed MY baby’s gender before I got to do which is what I was even spending my money on.
