El Toro Inc — Restaurant in Greenville

So I have eaten here several times food is ok nothing to write home about, however they are one of only two Mexican restaurants in town, both are meh, kind of bland but not terrible. Tonight however they lost my business for good. I ordered food to go on my home from work. Only to realize that when I got home my wife's soft tacos were actually hard tacos. I figured no big deal these things happen. So I called the restaurant to ask if I could get a replacement order. Which they obliged hower it struck me as odd that they asked for me to bring the old order back with me, as this is something not often done by restaurants when they get your order wrong but I figured whatever maybe they think I am trying to scam them for free food. So I brought the order back to the restaurant to get my wife's soft tacos. Only to realize when I got home that they had taken the tacos out of her order and replaced them with soft tacos, and kept the exact same rice and beans from the previous order. I live 10 minutes or so from the restaurant it doesn't take a genius to figure out that rice and beans that have sat for 40+ minutes are going to be ice cold. Furthermore I am well aware that bringing customer food back into the kitchen once it has left the restaurant is a major health violation, especially in the age of covid 19 one would assume that the staff and management would stray far from this sort of behavior. It truly makes me wonder what other types of cost saving measures they take that may be putting the health and safety of their staff and customers at risk. I won't ever be...

I would rate a negative 50 if I could. We waited 49 minutes for our food when they werent even busy. I ordered the El toro fajitas and the "chorizo" that I got on my plate was not I fact not chorizo it was ground beef chopped into large chunks with what looked like taco seasoning on it. It also smelled rotten. The whole plate smelled rotten. I ordered my children the cheese pizzas as they dont like Mexican food and their cheese pizzas looked like the $.99 frozen pizzas from walmart. It aslo looked microwaved as it was colorless and the bottom was soggy, it was also cold as were their fries. Our waitress was MIA the entire time we were there. Once she took our order she vanished. It took us 10 minutes to wave someone down to take our rotten food back to the kitchen. The only thing that was edible was the cheese dip and now I am hoping I dont get food poisoning. This place has really gone down hill. Which is really sad because they were really good when they first opened. Hopefully this review will deter others from my experience. They can guarentee no one I know will ever eat...

Well the food here is awesome. The problem is their customer service. It's bad. The last time I went, my wife didn't get her food until AFTER I was done eating mine. The waiter had made a mistake inputting the ticket. On top of that, we had 5 different waiters for some reason. I didn't know who to leave a tip for so I didn't leave one.

Finally, if you can pay in cash, do it. I used my card there once without leaving a tip for the waiter. He didn't deserve one because his service was subpar. After I left, I noticed my card had been charged a couple dollars more than what the ticket said. The jerk had given himself a tip!! Another customer had the exact same complaint! I'll have to admit, the manager on duty was very friendly and helpful in getting my $3 refunded to me.
