Antilogy is a formidable new contender for brunch in south Greenwood. That being said, we stopped by for dinner. Here's my experience:
Service - fast and friendly. We were attended to as soon as we walked towards the entrance. Very friendly staff. The food took no time at all to arrive at our table.
Atmosphere - Snappy and modern, yet comfortable. Upscale feeling.
Drinks - Antilogy has a library of bourbon to consider, brunch cocktails, signature cocktails, and a well-curated list of wines and beers. There is only one distiller celebrated in their signature cocktails: Hotel Tango. It's a local favorite, to be sure; but I hope in the future they will rotate in other bourbons featured on their "front page."
The Old Fashioned was more than a touch sweet. They put 1/2 oz of maple syrup and a strip of candied bacon in the drink, making it cloying for my taste. The sweetness masked the whiskey rather than elevated it.
The bourbon & coke I had was also sweet in the way I expect bourbon and coke to taste. Pretty good.
Food - All delicious, no complaints here for the taste. The only option at Antilogy is shareable plates. That's not a bad thing by itself, but not all plates are created equal in size. For example, the fries plate ($14) was generously portioned. It could have been split four ways. Then the Burrata ($17!!) we received was four total bites of food. Likewise with the Slider Trio, it could maybe be split three ways, but then each person would get about one bite of each slider.
My advice would be to ask how much food each plate provides before ordering.
Price - for three plates, two cocktails, plus tip, our bill came to $90. The bourbon cocktails really pushed up the total at $15 apiece. I enjoy a quality cocktail, but that is steep even for downtown Indy, let alone Greenwood.
Conclusion - I would recommend Antilogy for a special occasion dinner or a brunch with friends. It's a brand new restaurant (as of March 2023), and in spite of its few faults, it's fantastic...
Read moreI recently dined at Antilogy with a group of five friends, and unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of the manager. Immediately after we were seated, we were informed by the manager that the waitlist was only for four people, and he scolded us for using it for a group of five. Although my friend who made the waitlist didn't realize the restriction, we were not informed of it by the staff who seated us, and there was another table with five people seated nearby, which added to our confusion.
The manager's unnecessary scolding was off-putting and made us feel unwelcome. We were there to celebrate my birthday, and we even considered leaving due to the uncomfortable situation. However, we decided to stay as the food and drinks were good, and the waitstaff was pleasant.
Despite the pleasantness of the waitstaff and the quality of the food and drinks, the manager's behavior left a sour taste in our mouths. It was unnecessary and made our experience uncomfortable. As a result, we have decided that we won't be returning to in the future. We hope that the management will take steps to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and not made to feel unwelcome due to misunderstandings or miscommunications.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Antilogy based on our uncomfortable experience with the manager. The food and drinks were enjoyable, but the manager's behavior overshadowed the positive aspects...
Read moreToday was a nightmare! We normally enjoy coming here but won't be back. We put ourselves on the waitlist online. We get there and the hostes tells me there's two people ahead of us. That jived with the online app so i was good. We watched 5 sets of people be seated before us before I decided to say anything then the young hostess gets snippy with me saying she can't change the waitlist. No one asked her to. People came in who obviously think they get special treatment because... Center Grove you know.. and they get seated before us. The hostess wouldn't even seat us. She called someone else over to seat us as they looked over at us whispering. She knew that we knew what happened. Not right! Manager comes to the table and apologizes and says she wants to make things right and she'll check back in on us. Never saw her again Waitress left the check and we waited 10 minutes for her to come back and she never came. We finally between the three of us scrounge enough cash to leave for the bill. They were closing soon so no it wasn't busy. Food portions were smaller than last time we were there too. Two of us got the same chicken sandwich. One hardly no sauce the other Literally swimming in sauce. Potatoes looked and tasted like leftover from breakfast. It's too bad because we used to like...
