Drake's BBQ — Restaurant in Greenwood

I was driving through Greenwood, Mississippi and my lunch options were looking bleak. Out of pure desperation, I pulled into the first thing I saw... a Popeye's Chicken. Thankfully though, the ridiculously long line at the drive-thru wasn't moving so I had time to pull up Yelp (and cross-reference on Google Maps) and that led me 3/4-mile down the road to Drake's — and I'm so glad.

I pulled in and there were two huge smokers sitting in the parking lot of this nondescript little strip mall that I would've driven right past. Inside I found super friendly folks, some incredible smells, and I was thrilled to see my Florida Gators represented in their wall decor.

I got a pulled pork sandwich combo with two sides (the potato salad was great but the mac n cheese was ridiculous!). Everything...

Now u talking about a Mississippi Favorite Spot of mines 2 eat is @ Drake's BBQ..Great Customer Service,Great Food & A really Great Atmosphere..Food is Off The Chain,Ribs r tender,Tips r Great & My Favorite sides r the Mustard Potato Salad & Dem Backed Beans..So if u r ever in the Mississippi Delta by way of the Greenwood,MS area & can't figure out where 2 find some delicious BBQ,head down Hwy 82 East & ask 4 Drake's but probably by the time u cross the river bridge @ the hospital,U will smell the Aroma coming from his restaurant...Just Follow Ur Nose It Always Knows The Scent Of Really Good BBQ & FOOD...STAY SAFE &...

Great food and friendly people who treat you good. The place can get very crowded at times. You have to be patient and have a back up choice. In case they have sold out of your first choice. My knock on the place is that it doesn't have adequate parking. This place strives on word of mouth. The location is off of a very busy highway. A lot of potential customers don't know it's there. It is in a very small strip mall. Somewhere down the road they will have to expand or add a second location. Give them a try and see why you can't hardly get in there on Fridays &...
